South Dakota Kristi Noem, a staunch conservative Republican, has finally asked the question the rest of us out here in America have been wondering ever since the beginning of the GOP primary election season. With former President Donald Trump having an unbelievably massive lead, which has made it virtually impossible for some of the candidates to have any hope at all of pulling out a victory, why bother running? If you know you can’t win, isn’t running a campaign just a waste of time and money?
“Trump currently maintains a 38-point lead over nearest rival Ron DeSantis in the RealClearPolitics polling average, earning 53.9% support to the Florida governor’s 15.9% while no other candidate commands double-digit support,” Just the News reported.
“The fact is, none of them can win as long as Trump’s in the race. And that’s just the facts. So why run if you can’t win,” she went on to say, in an interview with Fox News. As of this writing, Noem has not announced who she is planning to back for the GOP nomination, telling Fox they would “hear something from me” on the matter.
Noem was not ready to provide an answer as to whether or not she would be serving as former President Donald Trump’s running mate, however, she did reveal that he had not yet asked her to do so.
“You know, he hasn’t asked me, so we’ll cross that bridge — we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. I don’t really answer hypotheticals,” she continued.
I’ve wondered since Trump announced why so many people have suddenly come out of the woodwork to try and take on the former president. He still has massive appeal among Republican Party voters and even quite a few who identify as independent. There are a lot of reasons for that too.
Despite being a billionaire, Trump has found a way to connect with blue collar Americans. He has a very down-to-earth personality and speaks and acts like regular people. He’s not an elite that is out of touch with reality. Add to that the fact he’s been repeatedly attacked by the left who want to silence and intimidate him into shutting up and getting out of their way and well, you have the ultimate weapon in the hands of the American people.
Regular voters have been lied to, attacked, threatened, and censored by radical leftists in the media and the government. We are regularly told we are nothing more than domestic terrorists because we want the maximum amount of freedom allowable and for the government to stay out o four lives. These used to be the founding ideals of our country. Now generations of Americans have been brainwashed to hate them and support values and principles that actually work against their own best interest. It’s tragic.
Still, why do these individuals currently running for the nomination, believe they can take Trump? They can’t. There’s just no way. And yet, we have quite a few people who have tossed their hats in the ring. Mind-blowing.
