Some Democrats in the House of Representatives took to the floor during a Thursday roll call for the vote on an Israel aid package where they actually broke down in tears before going on to slam Speaker Mike Johnson over and over for his attempt to provide the Jewish state with much needed support in the wake of brutal terrorist attacks from Palestinian radical group Hamas. Can you say, “melodramatic?”
“Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Greg Landsman voted for the $14.3 billion Israel aid package while crying and taking furious jabs at what they considered were the political games being played by the new House Speaker, Semafor reported. Johnson’s decision to attach cuts to IRS to the bill in particular drew their ire,” the Daily Caller reported.

“If you’re not going to take this seriously, if you’re going to play politics with something like this, what does that mean for the rest of this Congress?,” Landsman told Semafor. Landsman then took aim at Johnson’s religiosity and proclaimed, “He doesn’t follow that book [the Bible],” Semafor pointed out.
“I have a masters in theological studies. I studied the Torah. I studied the Bible, front and back, every page,” Landsman stated concerning his own background in an interview with the news outlet.
“The safety and security of Israel is paramount, especially in her time of crisis. I was appalled at the gross politicization of this critical funding and an unprecedented conditioning of emergency aid to Israel by Speaker Johnson,” Wasserman Schultz said in a post published on X/Twitter.

No matter how you slice the cheese, many folks on the left seem to be indulging in a whole lot of anti-semitism, a fact that should be very disturbing to the average American, as the same kind of attitude the left has for Jews is the same one they have towards Christians as well.
But honestly, helping Israel is not something that has to be religiously motivated. These were innocent people that died at the hands of Hamas terrorists who want to wipe out Israelis from existence. It’s horrific to think that’s an actual idea supported by a world religion, but it is. However, our support and help can come from a place of basic human decency and from the fact that Israel is our greatest ally in the Middle East.
Regardless, Johnson is truly a man of faith and for him to be insulted this way is rude. However, God never promised that doing the right thing would be easy. People will always have a reason to hate you, no matter what you do. Might as well do what’s right and good have people hate you for that instead of hating you because you’re a jerk, right?
Let’s hope that Johnson has a steel backbone and isn’t easily dissuaded from taking bold stands because of the nonsense spread by a few knuckleheads on the radical left, as they will no doubt be pouring on the pressure to try and make him cave in to their demands in the coming weeks, months, and years.
