Former President Donald Trump, who currently enjoys a massive lead in the 2024 Republican primary race, has pulled in a whopping 80 congressional endorsements, more than any other candidate running against him. And he’s set to get two more. Man, his competition is really getting blown out of the water, aren’t they? It seems pretty unlikely that anyone other than Trump will win the nomination for the Republican Party. The next election will probably be a rematch between Trump and President Joe Biden. Can’t wait for that showdown!
Punchbowl News has reported that endorsements from Reps. Tracey Mann, a Kansas Republican, and Erin Houchin of Indiana are expected to roll in for the former president, which puts him at over 80 endorsements from congressional members. That speaks volumes about what Republicans and regular Americans. People love the guy. Voters feel like Trump represents the blue collar guy, often standing up for those the left continually attacks and marginalized.
“The outlet reports that Trump’s campaign has made getting endorsements from Capitol Hill a priority this election cycle, with the idea that it could help propel his legislative priorities through Congress if he recaptures the White House next year,” Newsmax reports. ”
Although she did not have the former president’s endorsement, Houchin campaigned as a Trump conservative and topped a 10-candidate field to win her primary in May, 2022. She won the general election for U.S. House Indiana District 9 with 63.6% of the vote, according to Ballotpedia,” the report says.
Just last week, newly minted Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, put his stamp of approval on the former president, announcing on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” “I have done it; I have endorsed him whole-heartedly.”
“Look, I was one of the closest allies that President Trump had in Congress,” he explained. “He had a phenomenal first term. Those first two years, as you all know, we brought about the greatest economic numbers in the history of the world — not just the country — because his policies worked.”
“I’m all-in for President Trump, and I expect he’ll be our nominee,” he continued.
Newsmax concluded by saying, “Mann will join fellow Kansan Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., in supporting Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. On Monday, Marshall posted his endorsement of the former president on X, formerly Twitter.”
“Farm country is struggling,” Marshall stated about the current condition of the country. “Every day, the American dream is being pushed further out of reach. We need an America-first leader in the White House who fights for families in the Heartland and the values we live by.”
“While others try to imitate him, only President Trump will put our country back on track,” Marshall stated.
This is what really terrifies leftists. A unified Republican Party. Just imagine, if you will, the power and influence one has to possess in order to have so many powerful people on your side in a political battle like this? It’s astounding. And Trump has that pull because he actually did a great job as the commander-in-chief. He kept his word and implement policies that improve conditions in the U.S. for all Americans. That’s made him very popular.
