A group of female track-and-field athletes in high school who are suing male athletes who have performed in their sports have scored a huge victory as their case has been reinstated by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit on Friday. It’s still sad this is even a topic of discussion in the modern era, but alas, we’ve devolved as a society.
The folks over at the Daily Caller are reporting:
“Starting in 2017, two male athletes began competing in Connecticut girls’ high school track. In just three years, those two males broke 17 girls’ track meet records, deprived girls of more than 85 opportunities to advance to the next level of competition and took 15 women’s state track championship titles,” a press release from Alliance Defending Freedom, which is representing the athletes in the lawsuit, reads.
The 2nd Circuit will allow Soule v. Connecticut Association of Schools to proceed in federal court. The court ruled the girls had “plausibly stated an injury” and that they could be entitled to “monetary and injunctive relief.”
“Selina, Chelsea, Alanna, and Ashley — like all female athletes — deserve access to fair competition. The CIAC’s policy degraded each of their accomplishments and scarred their athletic records, irreparably harming each female athlete’s interest in accurate recognition of her athletic achievements,” ADF Senior Counsel Roger Brooks said. “The en banc 2nd Circuit was right to allow these brave women to make their case under Title IX and set the record straight. This is imperative not only for the women who have been deprived of medals, potential scholarships, and other athletic opportunities, but for all female athletes across the country.”
There are so many reasons why a biological male should not be allowed to compete against a female, chief among them are fairness and safety. No matter how many hormones a biological man takes, he still has much higher testosterone levels than a woman and thus his bones and muscles are more dense, increasing strength and speed. This not only means the athlete is bigger and faster than his competition, but that if something should happen where the two meet, damage will be done, and not likely to the male.
What’s so odd about the push for acceptance of transgenders into sports is that it essentially erases women and their accomplishments. It’s saying that a man is a better woman than an actual woman is, and prevents actual women from being able to excel at their chosen sport or competition. We have a problem here. The left being pro-woman and pro-transgender is not possible. The one contradicts the other. Something cannot be true and not true at the same time.
The fact this is something our culture is battling over goes to show the kind of deterioration that progressive thinking, logic, and ideology leads to. No one with a semblance of sanity can look at the notion of a man or a woman trying to be the opposite gender or sex and affirm it as mentally sound. The slippery slope is real, and we’re going down fast.
