Co-founder of the Daily Caller, Tucker Carlson, who is getting ready to launch his own streaming service soon after being fired from Fox News earlier this year, issued a response on Tuesday to questions concerning whether or not he would ever host a Republican Party primary debate. There have already been three of these events thus far and to be honest, nobody seems to care about them at all. Maybe it’s because former President Donald Trump is not participating in any of them and is enjoying such a commanding lead over the competition that people really don’t see the point. Or it could be that people pretty much know where everyone stands on the issues of the day so there’s no need for further explanation of each candidate’s platform?
Regardless, the Daily Caller reported that Carlson said he would definitely serve as the moderator for a debate after being asked about it by reporter Alex Lorusso, who made the inquiry on Twitter Space on Tuesday.
“Oh gosh, of course I would. Of course, I would. Yeah, that sounds fun as hell! I absolutely would. I mean, it would, I think have to be outside the RNC’s jurisdiction, and that would be good,” Carlson replied.
“If anyone present can see a purpose for the RNC to continue to exist, um, just shoot me a text,” Carlson added with a bit of humor. “The RNC’s like NATO. You know, it has no reason for being. It only consumes resources and says annoying things and breaks things. But, there’s sort of no reason to have it, you know what I mean?”
I asked @TuckerCarlson if he’d be willing to host a GOP debate with Joe Rogan and Elon Musk.

“In his question, Lorusso cited GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, railed against the RNC during the third Republican presidential debate in November, suggesting that Carlson should be moderating the event alongside Elon Musk and Joe Rogan. Ramaswamy predicted that his suggested lineup would attract “10 times the viewership” of the RNC-sanctioned debate,” the report continued.
“RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel shrugged off Ramaswamy’s attacks on her leadership of the RNC as well as his call for her resignation, telling Fox News host Stuart Varney that ‘he’s [polling] at four percent, he needs a headline,'” the Daily Caller concluded.
One thing is for sure. If anyone, outside of Trump, could make people care about another debate, it would be Tucker Carlson. He has become, without a doubt, one of the most important journalists in our modern day. He is to conservatives now, what Walter Cronkite was to Democrats, well, everybody really, back in the 1960s, another tumultuous period in our nation’s history. Not many figures like that exist today in the realm of journalism.
At this moment in time, it’s not looking good for a fourth debate. There is one scheduled for January with CNN hosting, but thus far, only Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed on for it. Two candidates, Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey, and pharmaceutical executive Vivek Ramaswamy, will both fail to qualify for the event. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has yet to make her intentions about participating in the debate clear.
