White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented Friday on whether or not President Joe Biden will intervene in the legal woes of his wayward younger son, Hunter Biden, after it was revealed on Thursday night he would be facing a fresh batch of criminal charges for tax violations. I mean, honestly, if he does intervene, is that not nepotism? If Hunter were not his son, it’s highly doubtful the commander-in-chief would get involved, right?
Jean-Pierre, speaking to the press on Air Force One, spoke briefly about the nine new charges brought against Hunter Biden by a grand jury in California, saying, “The president has said this before, and he will continue to say, which is that he loves his son and supports him as he continues to rebuild his life. I’m going to be really careful and not comment on this and refer you to Department of Justice or my colleagues at the White House counsel.”
“I’m not gonna go beyond telling you all what the president has said over and over again. He’s proud of his son,” she continued. Okay, so that’s not really an answer is it? The fact it’s a non-answer though, sort of feels like the administration could be leaning toward a “yes” on the president getting involved. If he does, it will pretty much end any chance he has of winning reelection, especially if Trump is the GOP nominee. No way he will let this blatant example of favoritism slide by. It will be campaign material for months. And even without all that, this course of action will further solidify the notion that we have a two-tiered system of justice and that Biden is out of touch with the average voter.

Another member of the press on board the plane asked KJP if Biden will provide a pardon for his son, noting that she said previously the president would not pardon his son, to which she replied, “Nothing has changed. That is still the case.”

Reporters also attempted to ask President Biden questions about his son’s latest criminal charges. He appeared to ignore the questions as he left the White House Friday afternoon.
Hunter Biden was indicted on nine tax charges related to failing to pay taxes, failing to file taxes and false tax filings over a four year period.
He allegedly engaged in a “four-year scheme” to avoid paying around $1.4 million in taxes owed for tax years 2016-19, a time period when he had more than enough income to fulfill his tax burdens, according to the 56-page indictment.
If Hunter Biden is found guilty of the charges against him, he could spend up to 17 years in prison for the three felony counts and the six misdemeanors he’s facing in the Central California District. His legal representative, Abbe Lowell, said this is all because of political pressure being applied to Special Counsel David Weiss by Republicans.

Along with the tax violations, Hunter Biden is also facing three federal gun charges in the state of Delaware which carry a potential maximum sentence of 25 years. In other words, this dude is in really hot water. That is, if the legal system actually functions as it is supposed to and the president doesn’t get involved to save his baby boy from jail.
