A third party political group known as No Labels is set to move forward with their plan to launch a presidential campaign and push a candidate of their own choosing this November, despite several high-profile members of the organization declining to run. Do these folks really think they have a chance in November? There’s no way. Our country, like it or not, is a two-party system. We have our candidates chosen already. To me, this is just a waste of time and resources.

About 800 delegates from No Labels are expected to meet virtually Friday and vote Friday to launch a 2024 presidential campaign, according to The Associated Press.
Although No Labels has left open the possibility of offering a candidate for months, the organization will not name its nominees for president and vice president this week. Instead, the group is expected to begin a selection process for potential candidates late next week.
No Labels did not directly confirm plans for the meeting Friday, but senior strategist Ryan Clancy said: “We expect our delegates to encourage the process to continue.”
The decision to move forward with their plans for a campaign comes after former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden look to be going head-to-head in a rematch of the 2020 election. Let’s hope we get much, much better results this time around. The last thing our nation needs is another term for Biden, a man who can’t walk in a straight line or remember what day of the week it is.
Strategists for the group said they would have a presidential nominee from one major political party and a vice presidential nominee from the other party.
West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who has said he is not seeking reelection in the Senate nor would he be seeking the presidency, warned No Labels last week to consider if the group would end up acting as a “spoiler” in the election.
Here’s more information from USA Today:
No Labels, which pitches its potential (unnamed) nominee as a better option in the inevitable rematch between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, faces a fork in the road during Friday’s virtual meeting of 800 delegates from 50 states.
Critics fear the group will inadvertently – or intentionally – draw votes from Biden, helping Trump win.
No Labels has long said that it would move to the next phase of whatever it will be in 2024 after Super Tuesday.
They most certainly will pull votes from both candidates, though given the current polling data for Biden, he might experience a much greater negative impact from their campaign than Trump will.
At the end of the day, third-party runs accomplish little. It can be a good way to expose people to important values and principles and allow folks to feel like they have more choices, but in the end, they still have little chance of ever winning an election.
The question to ask is whether or not a third party can beat Biden?
I don’t think so.
