Adding even more fuel to the fire that President Joe Biden is suffering from some sort of cognitive or neurological illness, a new report from The Washington Times has revealed that a neurologist and Parkinson’s specialist made a total of a dozen visits to the White House Medical Unit, according to official visitor logs.
And we thought the debate performance was a bad look, right? Yikes.
With all of the questions being raised by Democrats following the absolutely terrible debate performance Biden gave on June 27, this new revelation is not going to help the president defend his bid for reelection, especially as his political party is already trying to remove him as the nominee.
Dr. Kevin R. Cannard, a Bethesda neurologist and movement disorder specialist affiliated with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, visited the office of the White House Medical Unit ten times dating back to November 2022, the visitor logs show.
The logs, last updated on July 1, show Dr. Cannard visited the White House most recently on March 28.
Dr. Cannard met mostly with Megan Nasworthy, a medical liaison between the White House and Walter Reed. On Jan. 17, 2024, he met with Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House physician who treats Dr. Biden.
Dr. Cannard’s first White House visit, on Nov. 15, 2022, involved a meeting with Dr. Joshua Simmons, an emergency medicine specialist associated with Walter Reed and the William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
The logs do not reveal the reason for Cannard’s White House visits and it’s not known, as of this writing, if they were directly related to the health of the president. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine why a specialist in such an illness would be meeting with the president’s personal physician, at the White House, if it wasn’t in some way connected to his health.
Something else that is really hurting Biden’s campaign is his stubborn refusal to take a cognitive test in order to prove he’s fit for duty as the president. He’s also made it clear in no uncertain terms he’s not relinquishing his spot as the nominee, so if Democrats want to have someone else take his place, they’d have to somehow remove him themselves and I’m not sure that is possible.
It’s not clear whether he was ever treated by Dr. Cannard, but the physician’s training appears aligned with what some neurologists who have merely observed the president at a distance say appears to be a form of Parkinson’s and associated dementia.
Movement disorder treatment is described as “advanced care” that can involve treatments such as Botox injections into specific muscles to relieve muscle spasms or excess saliva production.
That might explain the stark contrast in Biden’s appearance now from what he looked like even just four years ago.
Dr. O’Connor, the White House physician, said he “assembled a team” of medical specialists, including “movement disorder neurologic specialists to carefully examine and assess the president” during his Feb. 28, 2024 physical exam.
Dr. O’Connor stated that he found no evidence that Biden was suffering with “cerebellar or other central neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s.”
Perhaps the doctor will just have to forgive us all for not buying his official results.
