Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, is now launching an investigation into Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, after reports emerged that revealed his deep ties to entities and officials connected to the Chinese Communist Party. I would say that’s more than enough reason to start a probe into Walz, especially when you take into account all of the connections that current President Joe Biden has with the CCP and various companies based in the communist country. Really beginning to think the left is trying to sell us down river to China, don’t you?
The X account for the Oversight Committee stated in their post announcing the investigation:
Mr. Walz has visited China 30 times, served as a fellow at a Chinese institution that maintains a devotion to the CCP, and spoke alongside the President of a Chinese organization the State Department exposed as a CCP effort to influence and co-opt local leaders.
FBI briefers recently informed the Committee that the Bureau’s Foreign Influence Task Force investigates CCP activity that is similar to China’s engagement with Governor Walz. In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Chairman Comer is now requesting information, documents, and communications related to the CCP-connected entities and officials Governor Walz has engaged and partnered with.

A report from The Washington Examiner said, “Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) announced the investigation on Friday, citing reports that Walz has visited the country 30 times over the decades by his own estimation, including for his honeymoon with his wife. In a letter sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Comer pressed the agency to provide access to all documents and communications related to the Chinese Communist Party’s connected entities as well as officials whom Walz has engaged with over the years.”
“The CCP has sought to destroy the United States through coordinated influence and infiltration campaigns that target every aspect of American life, including our own elected officials,” Comer went on to say in a statement.
Comer cited reports of “concerning ties” between Walz and the People’s Republic of China, including a trip he organized while he was a teacher at Alliance High School in 1993. That trip was reportedly paid for by the Chinese government, according to the Star-Herald.Comer also pointed to Walz’s private company named Educational Travel Adventures that he created the next year, which was designed to coordinate annual student trips to the PRC. That group was later dissolved shortly after he was sworn into the House in 2007, according to the chairman.
And it’s not just the fact Walz has visited China so many times in the past. He’s also made some rather strange remarks to go along with them. While Walz has always been a big fan of improving the relationship between China and the United States, he’s also expressed heavy criticism over the abuses of human rights and the Chinese government showing affection for its citizenry. Back in 1990, Walz did an interview with a newspaper in Nebraska where he said that if China “had proper leadership, there are no limits on what they could accomplish.”
Comer wants to have the requested documents from the FBI by the end of the month, however, as of this writing, it’s not yet been made clear if the agency will comply with the request.
