A brand new court document from the office of special counsel David Weiss has revealed that hey are in possession of evidence proving Hunter Biden took money from a Romanian businessman in exchange for influencing American policy. In other words, as we’ve been saying for years now, Hunter Biden — and if he evidence is correct his dad, President Joe Biden too — have been involved in influence peddling schemes. This payment took place when the elder Biden was serving as the vice president within the Obama administration.
A report from The Western Journal also stated that the document said the same person who paid Hunter wanted his assistance in ending an investigation into him hat was happening in Romania. The New York Post said that the president’s troubled younger son is also being charged with failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes between the years of 2016 and 2019.
The Post identified the Romanian businessman as Gabriel Popoviciu. The filing only uses the initials G.P. and refers to unnamed business partners of Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden, “who was attempting to influence U.S. policy and public opinion,” according to the filing, “agreed to attempt to influence U.S. public policy and receive millions of dollars pursuant to an oral agreement.”
“G.P. sought to retain Business Associate 1, the defendant, and Business Associate 2, to attempt to influence U.S. government agencies to investigate the Romanian criminal investigation of G.P, and thereby cause an end to the investigation of G.P. in Romania,” the filing explained. “Business Associate 1 and the defendant were concerned that lobbying work might cause political ramifications for the defendant’s father.”
The filing also makes he claim that an agreement was drafted up alleging the president’s son and his business partners were providing management services. However, Hunter and his buddies were actually being paid to “attempt to influence U.S. government agencies to investigate the Romanian investigation of G.P., and Business Associate 1 would pass approximately 1/3 to the defendant as his compensation and approximately 1/3 to Business Associate 2 as his compensation.”
All three of the individuals from the Biden family involved in the transaction split a total of $3 million. The court document then details some of the “work” — a term used very loosely when referring to anything Hunter Biden is involved with — for CEFC China Energy Co. Ltd and the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.
“This evidence will not include evidence that the defendant performed lobbying activity in exchange for this compensation,” the filing continued. “Rather, the evidence will show the defendant performed almost no work in exchange for the millions of dollars he received from these entities.”
The filing then stated that the special counsel “will introduce evidence that Business Associate 1 structured a business relationship in an effort to avoid having to register as a foreign agent, and that the defendant and his business partners did reach out to government officials, specifically the United States Department of State. That evidence is relevant because it establishes that the defendant received income, when he earned the income, and his state of mind was not consistent with someone with a diminished capacity.”
It seems the filing was designed to shoot down any chances of the defense using Hunter’s addiction problems to say that he was not actually responsible for what he did. It’s important to point out that the notes with the filing will not address whether or not any of the cash payment was sent to the president.
“With respect to his first topic, ‘allegations that Mr. Biden (1) acted on behalf of a foreign principal to influence U.S. policy and public opinion,’ the defendant did receive compensation from a foreign principal to attempt to influence U.S. policy and public opinion, as alleged in the indictment, and this evidence is relevant and not unfairly prejudicial,” the filing remarked.
If we want to see the two-tiered system of justice come to an end in this country, then those who are in positions of power and influence within the Justice Department need to step up and ensure that the law is applied equally to all people, regardless of who their parents might be, how much money they have, or whether or not an individual has political connections.
