The times, they are a’changin’ which is probably what former President Donald Trump will be playing on his private jet while campaigning all over the place for the White House after new polling data has come out of Pennsylvania, a key battleground state in the 2024 presidential election. An Emerson College poll has Trump leading in the state by a total of 51 percent to Vice President Kamala Harris’ 49 percent after having the preferences of undecided voters preferences are distributed.
Folks, the race is getting closer, especially when you look at the numbers from July. Trump was ahead of Harris 51 percent to 45 percent among very likely voters. A string of polls that have been released from Pennsylvania over the last several weeks that show the vice president taking the lead over Trump, which the newest poll reveals is no longer the case.
Could it be that the initial excitement of having a presidential nominee that isn’t basically brain dead has worn off? Maybe it’s that Harris has finally started to reveal her actual plans and policies in detail and everyone is realizing this woman is an absolute disaster on par or worse than President Joe Biden? I’ll take either/or at this point.
Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris, 51% to 49%, after undecided voters’ preferences are distributed. This does represent a tightening of the race compared to last month’s results, where Trump led Harris 51% to 45% among very likely voters. However, a string of polling released from the state over the past few weeks reliably showed Harris leading in the Keystone State. Emerson’s newest data firmly bucks that trend.
Electorally, Trump appears to retain his edge over Harris on pivotal issues such as the economy and immigration—domains where his policies have resonated with certain voter segments. However, Harris shows improvement from Joe Biden’s previous performance on both issues.

The poll provides a deep dive into the Senate race unfolding in Pennsylvania as well. Sen. Bob Casey, a Democrat, is currently ahead of his GOP challenger Dave McCormick by a total of 48 percent to 44 percent. That’s actually a significant lead. It’s important to point out that restoring this country to its former glory means winning more than just the White House. We need to provide Trump with a Congress that will back his agenda and ensure it gets put into law.
Keep in mind that in this poll, 8 percent of voters are still undecided.
“The candidates’ public perception is also telling. Both Harris and Trump have nearly equal favorable ratings at 48% and 47%, respectively. Their unfavorable ratings are similarly close, with 52% of voters viewing Harris negatively compared to 53% for Trump. In terms of voter concerns, the economy is the top issue for 51% of likely voters in Pennsylvania. Other significant issues include threats to democracy, immigration, housing affordability, healthcare, and abortion access,” TPN’s report said concerning the results of the poll.
Independents seem to favor Trump more than Harris at 48 percent for him versus 45 percent for her, but it’s pretty close. When it comes to folks in the suburbs, Harris is ahead of the former president 50 percent to 47 percent. Religious voters are squarely in Trump’s camp. He leads this demographic by 58 percent to 40 percent for Harris. Those who identify as being atheist or agnostic lean to the left, with 84 percent to 13 percent.
We only have a couple of months to go before election day. Things are once again shifting in favor of Trump in some of the most important states in the country. Right now there’s so much back-and-forth it’s hard to tell who will come out of this victorious. Pray it’s Trump. We can’t survive a Harris administration.
