Actress Rosie O’Donnell was supremely disappointed that Vice President Kamala Harris, who might be one of the most unliked Democratic Party nominees of all-time, lost in a big, big way to now President-elect Donald Trump during the 2024 election earlier this week. In fact, she was so distraught by the fact that new policies designed to improve the economy for millions upon millions of Americans would soon be passed into law after Trump and the new batch of Republicans take over early next year, that she made calls for the Electoral College to be disbanded, even referring to it as “racist.”
I don’t know if anyone has told O’Donnell, but Trump won the popular vote too. Even without the Electoral College, he’d still be the president. And he also pulled in record numbers of black and Latino voters too, which helped him to sweep all 7 swing states. Kind of hard to call anything racist when minorities played a critical role in getting Trump elected. Just throwing that out there.
“And how ’bout we get rid of the Electoral College? Anybody like that? Anyone? I’m not so sure anymore,” she went on to say. “It’s a popular vote, that’s what we need to do. Who gets the most votes wins — one vote, one person. No racist math in the equation.”
Check out the details from Breitbart:
As Breitbart News reported, Trump won 50.9 percent of the popular vote, versus Harris’ 47.6 percent. Trump’s electoral win was a landslide. His current electoral count stands at 295, which doesn’t yet count Nevada and Arizona, both of which are expected to put him at 312. Kamala Harris got 226. Rosie O’Donnell recently helped spread fake news over the first assassination attempt on Trump.
“I don’t know what happened that day,” O’Donnell remarked in a TikTok video in September. “But I don’t think it was a bullet that him. I don’t. I think it was maybe a fragment of something. But I don’t know. Without a scar to be seen yet blood all over it.”
Bullet or not, a man tried to shoot him in the head and almost succeeded, leaving him wounded. I think that’s the point. But, alas, they want to avoid telling the truth whenever possible. By “they” I mean Democrats. Truth is, it was the rhetoric they have employed this entire election cycle that led to that horrific moment in American history.
As far as the Electoral College goes, it exists to ensure every American voter, those in the sticks and those in urban areas, have their votes count, their voices heard. Without it, big cities call all of the shots and decide everything. That’s not freedom. It’s a dictatorship. Funny how the very people criticizing Trump for supposedly being a fascist are the ones who actually support fascist policies.
