Every once in a great while the Democratic Party gets sloppy and allows their true colors to show through the masks they wear on a daily basis. We’ve been told for many years, decades really, that Democrats are all about helping poor folk, the blue collar worker, while Republicans hate this particular demographic and only help the rich get richer, usually off the backs of the working class. Well, that is definitely not the case today. I think the 2024 general election established that pretty clearly, as the so-called “little guy,” turned red very, very quickly and decisively, determining that it’s Trump and the new GOP that is looking out for their best interests.
And that was confirmed by the left when Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson shared a screenshot on X of a since-deleted post from the official account of the “Ways and Means Democrats” that mocked made use of high Black Friday online sales in order to mock American citizens who have complained about high prices.
“And here we were thinking y’all couldn’t afford eggs!” the tone-deaf tweet went on to say. Johnson then pointed out that Democrats decided to delete the post.
“Americans have been struggling for FOUR YEARS to afford basic necessities and House Democrats are mocking them. Talk about your all-time out of touch, disgraceful comments,” the House Speaker said on social media.
Democrats deleted this tweet.

Democrats’ condescending mockery would have shocked us if we did not already know how much they despise ordinary Americans. As it stands, we have watched Democrats censor Americans’ speech, throw open their borders and send their money overseas to fight a proxy war against a nuclear power, so their dismissive attitude toward Americans’ financial struggles came as no surprise. Moreover, if they really feel that way about Americans, why delete the tweet? Why not own it? Worst of all, perhaps, the information Democrats cited did not even justify their callous mockery.
As part of their original tweet, the Ways and Means Democrats shared a USA Today story from Saturday that highlighted an impressive $10.8 billion in Black Friday online spending, up more than ten percent from last year. For some reason, the Democrats chose not to delve into the story’s details.
If Democrats had decided to actually do some due diligence, they would have discovered that a huge percentage of the sales were made with “buy no, pay later” programs similar to layaway which used to be common in retail stores back in the ancient times. This enables people to purchase more pricey goods by making small payments over time. These payments are interest free. It makes things much more affordable for those who might be on a tight budget.
BNPL accounted for $686.3 million in online sales on Friday alone. Moreover, according to Adobe Analytics, which the USA Today story used as a primary source, Americans’ BNPL spending totaled $9.4 billion between Nov. 1 and Dec. 2. That, of course, does not include purchases via other forms of credit. In other words, millions of consumers do not have the money to pay for Christmas gifts up front.
“Fortunately, Americans rendered their verdict on the economy and on Democrats’ authoritarian-elitist condescension when they voted to send President-elect Donald Trump back to the White House,” the report finished.
