Stephanie Ruhle, a host with extremely left-wing MSNBC, a network that’s known for its passionate distaste for President-elect Donald Trump, shared a video on her social media account Monday evening where she revealed it was far easier to get in touch with Trump for an interview request than it was with both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. It’s not every day that someone from MSNBC comes out and heaps praise on the president-elect for his accessibility.
But it’s true.
Trump never really seems to shy away from doing media appearances, even with hostile networks and publications, showing that he’s open to having serious discussions with people, even those he deeply disagrees with. This is something our nation sorely lacks in the modern-day. Everything has to be a pedal-to-the-metal hate fest with names being flung around like a monkey flings its poo. Once upon a time, we could have spirited debates on topics where he didn’t see eye-to-eye, but still be friends afterward. We need to recapture that spirit.
Ruhle said she called Trump directly after his Oct. 27 rally at Madison Square Garden, which was notable for statements he and other speakers made, including a new tax break proposal for caregivers and a joke about Puerto Rico made by stand-up comedian Tony Hinchcliffe. Ruhle claimed she called Trump directly on his phone to make the interview request.
“I wasn’t calling to chit-chat. I said, ‘Mr. President, this is Stephanie Ruhle, you made a lot of comments last night,’ blah-blah-blah. It was not an on-the-record conversation, so I’m not going to get into what he said, but I called for one reason,” Ruhle explained. “I said, ‘You just said a whole bunch of public things. I’d like to sit down for an interview with you. We’ve got five days before the election.’ So we didn’t get anything, there’s nothing for me to report. I called, I said I want an interview. Obviously, he said no.”
“But my point is, I was able to get to him by dialing his phone. Now that might be completely apeshit and you’re like, ‘I can’t believe people know this guy’s phone number,’ but the reverse of that, if I were to want to connect with VP Harris or President Biden, there’s 50 people between me and that,” Ruhle added. “I could write a note that maybe could get to somebody to get somebody, then through Pony Express and a pigeon something might end up in a mailbox near them. And I called DJT to say, ‘Yo, can I get an interview?’ and he told me to go fuck myself, but I still was able to connect with him. Yeah.”
During her entire campaign, Harris barely gave any interviews after becoming the Democratic Party presidential nominee and the ones she did do were total disasters. Harris lacks the ability to think and speak on her feet, off the cuff. She requires a teleprompter, which means she doesn’t know her policy positions or how to explain her plans. And that really soured her in the eyes of the American people.
