Legendary sports commentator Stephen A. Smith is teetering perilously on the edge of a cliff, that should he totter, he’ll fall into the abyss of American conservatism and his life will never be the same. I say this in light of a slew of comments he’s made recently slamming Democrats, a party of which he is, for the moment, a part of, in the wake of a massive loss to President-elect Donald Trump. He’s made another such remark by expressing his regret or what I like to call “buyer’s remorse,” over pulling the lever for Vice President Kamala Harris.

After President-elect Donald Trump thrashed Kamala Harris for the White House back in November, the sports media legend started going on rants where he would blast Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the entire Democratic Party. For example, he criticized the blue team for using celebrities non-stop to “guilt” their voter base, which then led to Smith telling Fox News host Sean Hannity that Trump’s victory over Harris was an “annihilation.”
With the election starting to get way past us at this point and Trump’s inauguration being in sight (Jan. 20), Smith has now turned the page to new rhetoric, which involves him straight up admitting that he regrets voting for Kamala Harris.
“I voted Democrat, and I got to tell you something right now. I don’t like the fact that I did. I don’t like what I’m seeing,” the ever controversial Smith remarked while having a conversation Saturday on Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin” with host Mark Levin. Just the fact he sat down with Mark Levin, one of the most hardcore conservative constitutionalists in the nation, is remarkable. The fact he admitted to regretting voting Democrat is simply stunning.
During the interview, Smith said that he’s “no longer interested in…listening to a bunch of fearmongering to tell us who we shouldn’t vote for.” And that, friends, is the first step toward becoming an independent thinker and not someone who tows the party line. This is an exciting time, man. Trump is waking people up.
“Why don’t you come up with a plan that tells us why we should vote for you?” asked Smith.

If this dude keeps talking this way, I look for him to flip Republican sometime during Trump’s administration. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but Smith is opening his eyes, his heart, and his brain, and that’s all anyone can ask for from anyone who identifies as a liberal.
