Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, was hospitalized in Europe earlier this week after sustaining some sort of secret injury while attending an official event. I wonder why in the world they aren’t telling us what happened to her? If it’s just an injury, why does it need to be kept hush-hush? Very, very weird. According to The Daily Wire, the 84-year-old congresswoman had been traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Luxembourg to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
It’s messing with my brain to think that Pelosi was four-years-old when this event took place. Nobody who is this old should continue serving in a governmental position, especially when it involves the passing of legislation.
Pelosi “sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” a statement from her office said, adding that she was “currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals.” The Wall Street Journal reported that Pelosi tripped and fell after posing for a group photo with others who were on the trip.
“She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our service members during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history,” the statement went on to say. “Speaker Emerita Pelosi conveys her thanks and praise to our veterans and gratitude to people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their service in World War II and their role in bringing peace to Europe.”
The statement then revealed that Pelosi was “personally and officially honored” to be taking this little jaunt to travel with the delegation, many of whom had members of their family that fought in WWII.
Our brave men and women who served during that global conflict have been labeled the “greatest generation” and it’s a fitting title. These folks, both inside and outside of the military, sacrificed so much in order to defeat the scourge of the human race, Adolf Hitler, and ensure that liberty continued for future generations of Americans and other individuals around the world.
I can’t imagine young people of today behaving this way. We had teenagers lying about their age so they could go and serve their country who ended up becoming heroes. Generation Z just doesn’t really seem to have that kind of character. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I am.
Anyway, here’s to hoping for Pelosi’s recovery and safe travels home.
