It seems the greatest evangelist for the gospel of liberty and freedom is President Joe Biden and his lackeys who have done such a pathetically bad job over the last four years that a large number of Democratic Party voters have decided to convert to the GOP, including a Florida congresswoman who just got a congratulatory note from President-elect Donald Trump for her decision.
Florida State Rep. Hillary Cassel announced this past weekend that she would be leaving the Democratic Party behind and officially becoming Republican.
“Congratulations to Hillary Cassel for becoming the second State Representative from the Great State of Florida to switch her Party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, once more expanding the GOP Supermajority in the State House!” Trump stated on Truth Social. “I would further like to invite other Disillusioned Democrats to switch Parties, and join us on this noble quest to Save our Country and, Make America Great Again – GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. THANK YOU HILLARY!”
In her announcement last week, Cassel went on to say that the decision to switch parties “was not made lightly but comes from a deep sense of responsibility to my constituents and my commitment to the values that guide my service.”
“I will be joining the Republican Conference of the Florida House of Representatives because I believe in their vision for a better, more prosperous Florida,” she remarked. “As a mother, I want to help build a world where our children are judged on their character and their actions not on their labels.”
“As a proud Jewish woman, I have been increasingly troubled by the Democratic Party’s failure to unequivocally support Israel and its willingness to tolerate extreme progressive voices that justify or condone acts of terrorism,” she explained in the statement. “I’m constantly troubled by the inability of the current Democratic Party to relate to everyday Floridians. I can no longer remain in a party that doesn’t represent my values.”
More and more Democrats are starting to realize that the party they are involved with has gone so far to the left that its unrecognizable. Basic values and principles that Americans of all walks of life used to hold to have been long abandoned, they’re just now being more open about it.
The Florida state representative stated she “won’t always agree on every detail” fellow members of the GOP, but believes she’ll “always have input, collaboration, and respect” in the conference. More so than she currently does with Democrats for sure.
“The House Republican Conference empowers members to find common sense solutions to real issues facing all Floridians,” she said, according to The Daily Wire. “They welcome different ideas and collaboration, which is the cornerstone of effective government. Those are my values. I ran for office to make my community and this state better. I want my constituents to know my resolve to deliver on these promises has never been stronger. I know the best way to accomplish this is to join Speaker Perez and the Republican Conference in the Florida House of Representatives.”
