A U.S. Border Patrol agent was recently murdered in cold blood in the state of Vermont during a traffic stop. Guess what the suspect was? An illegal immigrant. If this isn’t additional proof that we need to build the wall, enforce the law, and deport these folks back home, I don’t what it is. We’ve already had numerous individuals killed by those who have no legal permission to be on U.S. soil. Like Laken Riley for example.
Now that Trump is the president, it looks like something might finally be done to bring the border crisis to an end.
“Today, January 20, a Border Patrol agent assigned to the US Border Patrol’s Swanton Sector was fatally shot in the line of duty,” Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Benjamine Huffman said about the incident.
He then said, “This incident is being swiftly investigated and DHS will release additional information as soon as it becomes available.”
via The Daily Wire:
NewsNation’s Ali Bradley reported that the Border Patrol agent was “shot in the neck by an illegal immigrant who sources say was a ‘visa overstay.’”
“Sources say the agent was conducting a traffic stop when he was shot,” Bradley said in a post on X. “The shooter is also dead. A woman was injured in the altercation, her status and condition are not known at this time.”
Bradley said that Border Patrol officials believe that some criminal illegal aliens will try to flee the U.S. now that President Donald Trump is back in office. Huffman said America’s Border Patrol agents “put themselves in harm’s way so that Americans and our homeland are safe and secure.”
“My prayers and deepest condolences are with our Department, the Agent’s family, loved ones, and colleagues,” he continued.

Fox News is now reporting the agent killed in the incident is 44-year-old David Maland.
The veteran agent died Monday after a traffic stop on Interstate 91 between Newport and Orleans, Vermont, around 3:15 p.m. Monday, about 20 miles south of the U.S.-Canada border, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The agent’s tragic death comes just mere hours after President Trump was inaugurated for his second term. One of the issues he campaigned heavily on was securing the border and enforcing immigration laws. He also stated that he would be conducting massive immigration deportation operations to send folks who crossed illegally back to their country of origin.
“Authorities have long warned that under the Biden-Harris administration, illegal entries had soared at the northern border with Canada alongside a more visible influx across the country’s southern edge,” the Fox report concluded.
