House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries delivered a speech to open the 119th Congress, telling Democrats they need to go all in on making a rather big stink about freedom, comments that as you’ll see later, provided some of the greatest material for memes to ever come ripping out of a congressman’s mouth. What, exactly, did he say? Jeffries remarked that Democrats needed to “fart hard” for freedom. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

“Yikes. One of the funnier comments was one that used the event to call Jeffries ‘Temu Obama,’ a reference to the former president and the online Chinese budget marketplace that specializes in ripoff merchandise of dodgy quality,” The Western Journal reported.
I'm dying 🤣

Beneath the jokes, however, lies a serious point: Hakeem Jeffries succeeded Nancy Pelosi as the Democratic leader, and “Temu Obama” may well get the speaker’s gavel depending on how the 2026 midterms go. If he can’t even get this one right, how can we trust him to get anything right?
And then there were the references to California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell, who did the same thing five or so years ago:
Eric’s pause & slight lunge forward during fart suggests it’s him, not Chris. But who knows….

What’s hilarious is that the vote certification for President-elect Donald Trump’s massive election victory is scheduled to take place today, Jan. 6, a date which will live in infamy as the left considers this to sort of be their own version of Pearl Harbor, despite no similarities between the events whatsoever. But hey, facts have never been known to get the in way of a good narrative for progressives, am I right?
Anyway, look what Yahoo had to say about the incident:
As might be expected, Jeffries’ unfortunate comment went viral, especially among pro-Trump accounts on X, formerly Twitter. However, Jeffries also got in a shot of his own after GOP lawmakers cheered him for mentioning that Donald Trump had been elected president by voters two months ago. After the cheers and whistles from the Republicans died down, he said with a smile, “Thank you for that very generous applause. It’s OK. There are no election deniers on our side of the aisle.”
How stunning. So brave. Yeah, no, not really. Using that sort of lame joke is the height of stupidity. There are, contrary to Jeffries statement, plenty of folks on the left who swear that Trump cheated to win and thus he should not be certified and sworn into office. I believe that is called “election denial” right? Or is the left redefining terms again?
