Fox News personality Kat Timpf revealed heartbreaking news on Tuesday when she informed her followers on social media that just a week after giving birth to her first child she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The news of her diagnosis was given to her the day before she gave birth to her son. In a post on X, Timpf, 36, stated that doctors found the malignant cancer while they were talking about the preparations for her delivery.
While it’s never good to get diagnosed with any kind of cancer, Timpf revealed hers was discovered at Stage 0, which is when cancer is the least likely to have spread to any other part of the body. And then, the following day, she went into labor.
According to Trending Politics News, “For Timpf, her delivery date included both birth planning and treatment discussions for chemotherapy.”
“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” Timpf stated in the post. “As I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.”
The Fox News host said that the day was really stressful, noting that as she was admitted into the hospital she was already a week past her due date and every single thought in her mind was geared toward getting the baby delivered.
“Now that she is past delivery and mother to a healthy baby son, doctors are recommending that Timpf undergo a double mastectomy as soon as feasible. Still, she’s taking the scary episode in stride,” the report said.

“The good news? People who work at hospitals make excellent audiences for dark humor — and, as someone whose first book was about the power of jokes to get through traumatic situations, there was really no better place for me to be. Just minutes after my boy was born, I was talking with the nurses about what a birth announcement in my situation might look like,” she continued in her post.
“Should I go with ‘Mom and baby are doing well, except maybe for mom’s cancer, and then maybe the baby after breastfeeding is stunted by her double mastectomy,’ and then shut off my phone for a week?” She quipped.
While being a new mom is going to look very different for Timpf than what she originally anticipated, she finished her post by saying that she’s taking time to “celebrate everything I can.”
“I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules — and not just because he might have saved my life,” she finished.
