On Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security handed over 500,000 Haitians some really, really bad news. It’s great news for us, but yeah, pretty darn bad for them. DHS, led by Secretary Kristi Noem, is ending temporary protection against deportation for these folks.
Trump’s administration took similar steps against a large number of Venezuelans who have been using TPS as a means to stay in the country. Isn’t it hilarious how liberals complain and whine nonstop about how awful the United States is, yet millions of people from all around the world are doing all they can to get across the border at practically any cost?

“Biden and Mayorkas attempted to tie the hands of the Trump administration by extending Haiti’s Temporary Protected Status by 18 months — far longer than justified or necessary,” a DHS representative went on to state in a news release, making a reference to former President Joe Biden and former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
“We are returning integrity to the TPS system, which has been abused and exploited by illegal aliens for decades. President Trump and Secretary Noem are returning TPS to its original status: temporary,” the representative continued, making yet another reference, this time to current DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, who is responsible for issuing the order.
“Some Haitians have been protected from deportation since 2010, when the Obama administration first authorized it for Haitians after a major earthquake there, according to The New York Times,” The Western Journal reported.
“As noted by Politico, once Haitians in the U.S. under TPS lose their protected status, they could be eligible for deportation,” it added. The order states that any Haitians that were protected up through Feb. 3, 2026, will now have their protection ending on Aug. 3.
The notice also went on to rip into Mayorkas saying that he “failed to evaluate whether ‘permitting the aliens to remain temporarily in the United States’ is not ‘contrary to the national interest of the United States.’”
It shined a big spotlight on several instances where the TPS extensions for Haitians were extended, going on to explain, “Each new designation allowed additional Haitian nationals who entered the United States, including illegally, to qualify even though these populations were not impacted by the preceding findings of ‘extraordinary and temporary conditions.’”
“Allowing aliens from a given country, including aliens who entered the United States illegally or overstayed their authorized period of admission, to remain in the United States temporarily with employment authorization is an extraordinary act,” the order continued.
Many of the extensions that were provided for Haitians had no explanation behind them. So why were they allowed to unlawfully remain here in the U.S.? Probably for the same reason Biden and his administration allowed illegal migrants from Mexico to flood into the country.
