Earlier this week, after learning the news that MSNBC host Joy Reid had been handed a pink slip and her show canceled, her colleague, Rachel Maddow, took some time during her own program, “The Rachel Maddow Show,” and expressed her total disagreement with her employer’s decision.
She went so far as to insinuate the reason for Reid’s firing being a result of racism. Well, she’s now learning that you reap what you sow…the HARD way.
The network has laid off a huge chunk of the staff behind-the-scenes of her program. Could this be a message sent to Maddow for voicing her displeasure over Reid’s firing and accusing them of being racist?
Who knows?
But the timing of the whole thing sure is weird, wouldn’t you say?
On Monday, Maddow told the viewing audience how much she cared for Reid and their friendship before playing the race card, saying she found it “unnerving to see that a network where we’ve got two — count ’em two — non-white hosts in prime time. Both of our non-white hosts in prime time are losing their shows.”

Rachel Maddow says Joy Reid got fired because she’s ‘bIack’…

“Maddow found it indefensible that these minority colleagues were being let go. Apparently, MSNBC executives must have been watching that evening, as they later announced they found it necessary to cut staff from a prime-time show with a white host — Maddow’s,” The Western Journal reported.
On Tuesday it was reported that the network sat down with Maddow’s production staff and informed them they would be letting them go. However, they can apply for a different position within the company or claim severance. It’s their choice.
Maddow gets to graciously keep her executive producer and a few other higher ranking producers to help run the program.
What makes me believe this could have been done in light of Maddow’s comments is that the network did not do any other widespread layoffs. Why specifically go after her production members and not cut one of the other programs with low viewership?
Makes you think.
It looks like Maddow ultimately got her wish. She thought it was weird that white people weren’t getting booted. So they hit her program. Makes total sense.
If MSNBC wants to make it all the way through a second Trump administration, it’s time they find someone who can resonate with their viewing audience. They should rip a page out of CNN’s playbook and hire a Republican like Scott Jennings over at CNN.
Jennings essentially carries the network and is really the only conservative voice there. Not to mention he’s just a likable guy, even during heated roundtable talks with leftists.
