A brand new poll that came out earlier this week revealed that almost half of the voters in the state of California, usually considered a deep blue state, would be open to voting for a Republican gubernatorial candidate when Gov. Gavin Newsom’s term is finally up in 2026.
Democrats are so cooked.
The poll, which surveyed 700 voters between the dates of March 6 and 9, was done by David Wolfson, who works as a national pollster and is also a Faculty Lecturer at Columbia University’s Political Analytics Graduate Program, which receives funding from the Madison McQueen media firm.
Voters who participated in the poll were asked a series of questions concerning the economy, the nation’s current direction and their political leanings heading into the mid-term election season in 2026.
Trending Politics News is reporting, “Results were striking, as 48 percent of voters in the traditionally deep blue state indicated that they will consider voting for a Republican gubernatorial candidate.”
“Are voters ready for a change from the policy priorities of Democrats?” Owen Brennan, president of Madison McQueen asked. “With the right leadership and policy focus, California Republicans are looking at the biggest window of opportunity in a generation.”
Listen, for the last four years, hard working every day Americans have suffered beneath the weight of bloated bureaucracy that doesn’t give two squirts of donkey urine about whether or not they can put food on the table or pay the mortgage. And the radical left isn’t even hiding their true intentions about it any more.
They put horrific economic policies into action that blasted inflation like a rocket into the stratosphere. Groceries became unaffordable, along with the cost of housing. We had a president at the time who didn’t know what planet he was on due to suffering from cognitive decline, which a morally bankrupt Democratic Party, working hand-in-hand with a corrupt media, hid from the public.
And that’s just scraping the tip of the iceberg. There’s also diversity, equity, and inclusion policies that prevented good, highly qualified individuals from getting jobs due to companies needing to meet a quota for folks of a specific skin color or ethnicity. How about supporting the wholesale slaughter of children in the womb and the mutilation of a minor’s private parts to indulge in mentally ill kids’ mental delusions?
Any wonder the left suffered a massive loss last November? People are fed up with the radical progressive agenda.
The poll revealed a number of troubling signs for the Democratic Party when breaking down the results further. A large majority of voters, 83 percent, agreed that gas prices are way too high in California. The answer has largely been interpreted as an indictment of the state’s energy policies, as 69 percent of respondents said Democrat leaders have not done enough to bring down energy costs. An additional 71 percent of likely voters believe Governor Newsom and legislative leaders have not done enough to bring down sky-high costs of living.
Respondents also indicated souring approval of left-wing social issues, as 60 percent of those surveyed opposed the idea of taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens. 73 percent support fully funding anti-crime Prop. 36, which State Democrat Leaders have refused to do, while just 24 percent of respondents believe men should be able to compete in women’s/girl’s sports.
“Voters are increasingly concerned about the direction of California under one-party rule,” Brennan explained. “On issue after issue, voters are seeing their quality of life fall and their cost of living rise.”
The governor’s race in the Golden State is beginning to take shape as individuals come forward to toss their hat in the ring for the Democratic Party. Toni Atkins, a former California Senate president, along with former Rep. Katie Porter have already declared their intent to run for the highly coveted office.
There’s also a few rumors floating around online that former Vice President Kamala Harris is mulling over tacking a crack at the governor’s seat. If this ends up being true and she declares, she will no doubt emerge quickly as the favorite for the position.
