Former vice president and failed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has put out a timetable for coming to a final decision about the future of her career in politics. Harris is seriously considering running for governor in California next year to potentially succeed current Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom who will be term-limited.
Hasn’t the state of California suffered enough? Have a heart, Harris. Show some mercy, a little bit of compassion. I mean, are there still enough Democrats left in the Golden State who would actually vote for Harris after the crappy results she garnered in the presidential election?
We’ve all had an opportunity to see what she’s really like and there’s a lot left wanting.
A source close to the former vice president spoke with Fox News and confirmed that she’s told her close allies she’s going to come to a final decision on running for the governor’s seat by the end of summer.
“There has been plenty of speculation since last year’s election regarding Harris, who replaced then-President Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee last summer after he dropped out of the race amid mounting questions over his physical and mental stamina,” the article read.
The two potential options for Harris are launching a gubernatorial run next year in her home state or seeking the presidency again in 2028. Extremely early polls in the next Democratic Party presidential nomination race – which are heavily reliant on name recognition at this point – indicate that the former vice president holds a significant lead over other potential White House contenders.
This is proof the Democratic Party learned absolutely nothing from the huge loss they suffered last November. The country made it abundantly clear they couldn’t stand Harris. Most of us thought she had the intelligence quotient of a toddler’s shoe size.
Why, after a massive loss, would you want to push the same failed candidate? Democrats keep making the same exact mistakes over and over. Despite knowing a particular strategy won’t work, they employ it anyway.
It’s insanity.
It is very unlikely she could do both. Running and winning election in 2026 as governor of heavily blue California, the nation’s most populous state and home to the world’s fifth-largest economy, would likely take a 2028 White House run off the table, allies and political analysts have indicated.
Harris formerly served as district attorney in the city of San Francisco and represented the state of California in the U.S. Senate before jumping aboard former President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.
In a recent video message, Harris has promised all three fans she has that she is dedicated to remaining in the fight, sticking with the party “every step of the way.”
She recently spoke at the NAACP Image Awards, as she accepted the organization’s Chairman’s Award. This weekend, she is headed to Las Vegas – Nevada is an early-voting state in the presidential primary calendar and a key general election battleground – to speak at Human X, which is an AI-themed conference.
For California’s sake, let’s just hope Harris retires from politics and takes up scrapbooking.
