White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, a rising superstar in the political scene, took CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins to the woodshed and gave her and attitudinal recalibration she won’t soon forget during a briefing on Wednesday. The brutal back-and-forth came as questions were being lobbed left and right about the story from The Atlantic.
For those who have their heads buried in the sand ostrich style, the story in question concerns the leaking of war plans in a Signal group chat with several Trump officials in which a sleazy journalist from the aforementioned publication inadvertently got added to.
Collins began to press Leavitt for a follow-up question, barging in and talking over top of her like a bull in a china shop. But Leavitt, true to form, wasn’t having it, cutting off the CNN anchor and turning to another reporter instead.
For the record, I firmly believe that the most annoying “journalist” out right now is Kaitlan Collins, so seeing her get roasted and toasted by Leavitt is truly a pleasure.
“Does the president feel that he was misled by his national security advisors, whoever it was that told him there was no classified information in there, now that he’s seen these messages?” Collins asked during the briefing.
“I’ve now been asked to answer this question three times by the both of you, and I’ve given you my answer,” Leavitt fired back at Collins. “The president feels the same today as he did yesterday.”
Collins then attempted to jump back in and squeeze out a follow-up question, saying, “Sorry, on my follow up on what you were just saying…”
“Go ahead, Philip. I’m not taking your follow-up!” Leavitt shot back at Collins. Whew. That last bit had some pepper on it.
“I have a follow-up on something you just said, though, Karoline,” Collins said, seemingly incredulous that she, the high and mighty Kaitlan Collins, would be passed over for a follow up.
“Kaitlan, we’re not taking your follow-up,” Leavitt reaffirmed.
Karoline Leavitt was absolutely the right choice for press secretary. President Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he picked her for the job. She’s tough, fair, and backs her boss 100 percent. You really can’t ask for much more, right?
Collins, on the other hand, is one of the most obnoxious journalists on cable television and is extremely unlikable. I’d take a thousand Leavitts over just the one Collins.
