Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett is the latest nightmare for liberals following in the footsteps of both former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris in causing unnecessary controversy due to a lack of control over her tongue.
Her latest episode took place on Wednesday when she bragged about her being black as a major contributing factor in her getting hired as a public defender who possessed no prior experience. In other words, she’s a DEI hire.
Little does she know she’s just officially made the case for why diversity, equity, and inclusion hires are a horrible idea and should, as ordered by President Donald Trump, be tossed in the waste basket pronto.
“Crockett relayed the story during a House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight meeting on corruption in the FBI under the Biden administration. She used it as an argument to defend diversity in law enforcement,” Fox News reported.
“When I first became a public defender, I had no criminal defense experience. I walked in, and I told my boss, Charlie, I said, ‘Listen, you should hire me.’ He said, ‘Why?’ I said, ‘Because I’m Black.’ Charlie looked at me like I was crazy,” Crockett went on to say.
Thank you, congresswoman, for proving conservatives absolutely correct on the dangers of DEI hires and programs. How many other vital jobs have been filled by individuals based on skin color and not skill and training? Not only is this unethical in Crockett’s case, but it’s downright dangerous in many others.
Imagine the pilot on your next flight not having top notch training or being seasoned through experience with other professional instructors. Is it any wonder plane accidents have gone up exponentially lately?
She added, “And I said, ‘Let me tell you something. When I walk in, I’m going to walk in with a level of rapport and understanding that maybe some of my other colleagues will not.’ Charlie offered me my job, and I worked my butt off and I worked really, really hard for all of my clients, not just those that look like me. That is what it looks like to serve.”
A public defender is supposed to provide someone with legal representation when they can’t afford to hire their own attorney. As you might imagine, Crockett’s confession led to widespread mockery on social media platform X.

Later in the hearing, Crockett gave a defense of DEI hiring practices within the criminal justice systems in order to allow victims to see law enforcement officials who look like them.
“We want somebody to show up, and we don’t want them to look at us and act as if just because I’m Black or because I’m a woman that I am not worthy of having that case investigated,” Crockett explained.
She continued, “Because we have an administration that is continuously railing against diversity, equity or inclusion or we don’t need people that show up that feel like diversity should not be valued. That is why we should have somebody that may show up and looks like me.”
