Former First Lady Michelle Obama has discovered, the hard way, that as charismatic as she was when her husband was in the White House, the charm may have worn off. Obama started a new podcast and it’s not going well. Like at all.
The program is ranked 34th on Spotify’s top podcast charts, which wouldn’t seem all that bad at all coming from someone who is lower profile or just a regular person, but when you’re a popular former first lady, this is actually devastating.
Essentially, the show is a complete and total failure. And things may not getting any better, considering this ranking comes weeks after the debut of the first episode. Obama’s brother, Craig Robinson, co-host the program which is supposed to be about their early years.
If you take a gander on Apple podcasts, the show is at 21st place on the list. The show, which first launched in early March, is called “IMO.”
The top three spots on both Apple and Spotify belong to “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang.”
“Obama and Robinson launched their podcast venture with two episodes on March 12. The first episode currently has 335,200 views and the second, which included guest Issa Rae, had 194,258 views as of Monday morning,” Fox News reported.
“Filmmakers Seth and Lauren Rogen joined Obama and Robinson for their March 19 episode, which has 250,773 views on YouTube. Their other guests included Keke Palmer, Dr. Laurie Santos, and former Hindu monk Jay Shetty,” Fox’s article stated. “Obama and Robinson’s podcast ranks fourth under Education podcasts, according to Spotify’s charts.”
During the premiere episode of the podcast, the former first lady revealed that former President Barack Obama was forced to “adjust” to getting his butt in gear and leaving on time and actually be punctual to his obligations after they got married. You know, like regular adults.
“Well, Barack, you know, he had to adjust to what ‘on time’ was,” she said to her brother. “I’ve got this husband who’s like, when it’s time to leave — it’s 3:00 — he’s getting up and going to the bathroom. And I was like, dude, dude, 3:00 departure means you’ve done all that, you know?”
She then went on to say that it was her brother that convinced her to support her husband’s presidential ambitions.
“I mean, we knew Barack was smart and, you know, ambitious,” Obama recounted. “But you talked me into supporting his run, and he was smart enough to know that he needed to come to you and sell you on the idea.”
She said that, at first, she was totally against his running for the White House, saying, “We’ve done enough crazy stuff.”
If we could only rewind time and convince Robinson not to convince the former first lady to support her husband’s presidential bid, we may have never had his administration nor the Biden administration that would eventually come about, saving America from economic destruction and protecting our liberties from liberal erosion.
