For many, many years, especially under the governance of the Obama and Biden administrations, liberals within Congress — and those without as well, have gotten away with proverbial murder. They’ve been allowed to do whatever they want, engage in a wide variety of corrupt, criminal acts, and not suffer the consequences.
But there’s a new sheriff in town. And the left is getting a taste of bitter reality.
Lack of accountability is being crumpled up and tossed in the garbage can, a lesson that Democratic Congresswoman LaMonica Iver of New Jersey is learning the hard way.
McIver was busted on video assaulting officers with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency while attempting to storm an ICE detention center earlier in the month. If she thought since she’s a Democrat, she would somehow get a free pass, she’s greatly mistaken.
U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Alina Habba, announced that that she “charged Congresswoman McIver with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement.” We call this reaping what you sow. It’s a pretty solid biblical principle. Love to see it put into action.

Section 111 of Title 18 punishes anyone who “forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates or interferes with” law enforcement officials performing their duties. Last week, the hulking McIver was seen on video shoving ICE officers at the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark. At one point, she aggressively elbowed one officer and threw a fist at another.

During the incident, McIvers, along with three other Democratic politicians, were attempting to gain access to the center as busloads of illegal migrants with violent records were being brought in, according to information provided by Homeland Security.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Reps. Robert Menendez Jr. and Bonnie Watson Coleman where McIvers’ partners in crime. The mob of radicals claimed they simply wanted a tough of the facility.
I don’t think anyone is going to buy that nonsense. Clearly, they have revolution in their hearts. If leftists continue down this path, it’s not going to end well for them. Biden is gone. Trump is calling the shots now.
Habba — an appointee of President Donald Trump — agreed to dismiss the misdemeanor charge of trespass against Baraka “for the sake of moving forward.” It bears noting that unlike McIver, Baraka was not seen assaulting anyone. Habba also said, she’ll give a personal tour of the ICE center to Baraka, to show him “[t]he government has nothing to hide at this facility.”
The transparency is greatly appreciated, especially after the lack thereof from the previous administration. However, no matter how nice the facilities appear to be or if they are super compliant with federal regulations, the left will take a stand against them.
There’s no satisfying the woke.
The U.S. Attorney said, she decided to prosecute LaMonica McIver after she “persistently made efforts” to resolve the issue without bringing criminal charges, but the congresswoman refused to cooperate.
“No one is above the law — politicians or otherwise,” Habba made clear. “Now we will let the justice system work.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem backed Habba’s decision.
“If any person, regardless of political party, influence or status, assaults a law enforcement officer as we witnessed Congresswoman McIver do, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Noem said in a post on social media.

McIver issued a response to the announcement, shifting blame for the incident onto ICE agents for her violent behavior. Personal accountability and responsibility are not terms found in the left-wing handbook.

Not only does McIvers need to be held accountable for her actions simply because she broke the law, but also to be made an example of. By reaping consequences for her actions, other Democrats will be deterred from thinking they can get away with violence.
Failure to punish McIvers will embolden radicals to ratchet up their use of violent measures to achieve political change. That’s called terrorism.
