One of President Donald Trump’s most endearing qualities is that you always know where you stand with him. He’s an honest man who lacks a politically correct filter through which to strain his true thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Modern-day liberal snowflakes — using a “boomer” term, I know — aren’t built to handle this level of honesty.
Trump has put this characteristic on display by calling out the hypocrisy of the elite in America by taking a few shots at pop icon Taylor Swift while he was attending an event in the Middle East. And his take on the singer rubbed MSNBC personality Lawrence O’Donnell the wrong way.
Don’t worry if that name sounds unfamiliar. Nobody knows who the heck he is. When it comes to relevance in the realm of journalism, he’s practically the invisible man.
So what did Trump say about Swift that got O’Donnell’s panties twisted in knots? He said that ever since he first set his sights on her for throwing her support behind former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, she’s lost a significant percentage of her cultural standing, before slamming her as lacking moral authority when it comes to political issues.
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” the president said in a post published on social media, according to the New York Post.
O’Donnell blew his top over the use of the word “hot” in the post, assuming that Trump was referring to the popstar’s physical appearance, but in reality, the context indicates he was speaking about her popularity. Of course, picking up on context clues requires basic reading comprehension of at least a fourth-grade level, so that might explain how the guy got this all twisted up.
This is a crisis. The President is mentally incompetent & the media refuses to cover that story. pic.twitter.com/jO5IRVR9Vu

What makes our president so brilliant is that he makes controversial “hot takes” like this as a means of starting a national conversation about other important political and cultural grievances.
In 2018, Swift, who up to that point had remained silent on politics, came out in support of Democrat Phil Bredesen for a Senate race in Tennessee. Trump wisecracked at the time that he liked Swift’s music “25 percent less” after her endorsement. Ever since that incident, Swift has been increasingly more vocal about politics, supporting former President Joe Biden in the 2020 election and former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.
What irrelevant knuckleheads like O’Donnell don’t realize is that these “attacks” aren’t about insulting someone you don’t like. They serve as a reflection of the battle between populist politics and celebrity activism. Trump is combating the latter for the benefit of the American people and our culture at large.
