The journalist — a term used very loosely here — who concocted the narrative to help build the tale that the Hunter Biden laptop story was nothing but Russian disinformation is the same individual who wrote up an anti-Trump piece concerning the bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites.
Back in 2020, during one of the most contentious presidential races of our time, just days away from folks heading to the polls to cast their ballots, a bombshell news story was published by the New York Post, revealing a laptop belonging to then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, that contained seriously damning material on it.
Disgusting pictures of Hunter engaging in sexual activity, doing all kinds of drugs, and evidence that the Biden family was involved in an influence peddling scheme with foreign nations. And yet, the story was suppressed by the mainstream media who wanted to help Biden defeat Trump and become the next commander-in-chief.
One way this was accomplished, aside from ignoring it, was to label it Russian disinformation, a narrative CNN reporter Natasha Bertrand helped create. This whole thing was a huge hoax. And it was proven as such much later on down the road. You would think being exposed as a liar and a fraud would lead to disciplinary action taken against Bertrand, right?
In a just, fair, and principled world, that would be the case. Unfortunately, that’s not the reality we currently inhabit. The network actually promoted Bertrand, despite her previous big story being totally debunked as a hoax.
And that brings us to now, where Bertrand has once again orchestrated a fake news narrative concerning the success of the U.S. military’s three strikes on Iran nuclear facilities, which took place just days ago. In her article, Bertrand claims that the bombing didn’t destroy core components of the country’s nuclear program, which would have set it back many years, but only set it back by months.
Where did she get her information? From an intelligence assessment that was described by seven unnamed individuals who were allegedly briefed on it.
“The assessment, which has not been previously reported, was produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s intelligence arm. It is based on a battle damage assessment conducted by US Central Command in the aftermath of the US strikes, one of the sources said,” Bertrand wrote.
Here’s more from her dreadful article:
The analysis of the damage to the sites and the impact of the strikes on Iran’s nuclear ambitions is ongoing, and could change as more intelligence becomes available. But the early findings are at odds with President Donald Trump’s repeated claims that the strikes “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also said on Sunday that Iran’s nuclear ambitions “have been obliterated.”
Two of the people familiar with the assessment said Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was not destroyed. One of the people said the centrifuges are largely “intact.” Another source said that the intelligence assessed enriched uranium was moved out of the sites prior to the US strikes.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt weighed in on the matter saying, “This alleged assessment is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community. The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump, and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program. Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000 pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.”
However, a military report from Israel, who had soldiers on the ground at the three sites to assess the damage done, say the targets were totally destroyed.
The lesson here is you should never, ever trust a word out of the mouth of anyone who works for CNN.
