In a move that’s rocking and rolling the political realm, former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who served under not one, but TWO Democratic presidents, has packed her bags and ran away from the Democratic Party.
There’s a brand spanking new book that is due out Oct. 21, 2025, called “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House,” that talks about the weeks leading up to former President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the race. It also provides the reasons for her departure from the party and switching to an independent.
“Until January 20, I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the President of the United States,” Jean-Pierre said in a statement released on Wednesday.
“At noon on that day, I became a private citizen who, like all Americans and many of our allies around the world, had to contend with what was to come next for our country. I determined that the danger we face as a country requires freeing ourselves of boxes. We need to be willing to exercise the ability to think creatively and plan strategically,” she continued.

Jean-Pierre, 50, was the successor of former press secretary Jen Psaki in 2022 after she had previously served as deputy press secretary and worked as a senior adviser during Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. Back during Obama’s first term, she served as a regional political director.
Many of Jean-Pierre’s critics accused her of evading serious, tough questions about Biden’s physical and cognitive health. The announcement about the forthcoming book revealed it will take readers “through the three weeks that led to Biden’s abandoning his bid for a second term and the betrayal by the Democratic Party that led to his decision.”
“She presents clear arguments and provocative evidence as an insider about the importance of dismantling the torrent of disinformation and misinformation that has been rampant in recent elections and provides passionate insight for moving forward,” the announcement continued.
Perhaps Jean-Pierre’s greatest claim to fame — among conservatives anyway — is getting her backside handed to her on a regular basis by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy. Some of their back-and-forth exchanges on hot topics have become legendary. The man really knew how to throw out hard questions and get under KJP’s skin.
One of their more infamous encounters happened in October 2024. The topic of a press briefing being led by Jean-Pierre was hurricane relief and the aid being sent to Lebanon. The Biden administration sent $157 million in aid to Lebanon, while at the same time requiring congressional approval for domestic disaster relief after Hurricane Helene slammed North Carolina.
During that exchange, Jean-Pierre accused Doocy of spreading misinformation, emphasizing that the administration had already allocated over $200 million to domestic disaster relief. Things got so hot that she abruptly exited the briefing room.
It’s interesting to see so many liberals jumping ship and abandoning the Democratic Party in the wake of the slaughterfest that was the 2024 election. Are people finally opening their eyes and seeing the truth behind failed Democratic policies? Or are they simply trying to salvage their careers? Guess time will tell.
