When things get intense enough to explode into war anywhere in the world, it usually pans out pretty well for whoever is in charge of the United States, politically speaking. And that’s definitely the case with President Donald Trump.
Despite the majority of Americans not wanting to get dragged into another foreign war (the Israel-Iranian conflict to be specific), voters still have the president’s back, agreeing with his belief that Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, regardless of the cost.
In a new poll produced by Insider Advantage, voters were asked if they believe Trump should take “all necessary” steps to stop the Iranian military nuclear program. A total of 74.4 percent agree with the president. Only 22.9 percent disagree, with another 2.7 percent who are undecided.

The poll comes as a slew of others show how war-weary America has become more than two decades after former President George W. Bush first launched the War on Terror, careening the U.S. into Afghanistan and Iraq. Today, Americans oppose war with Iran by a 20-point margin, 45% to 25%, while 30% told the Washington Post they are unsure.
However, self-described MAGA voters are unequivocally on Trump’s side if he chooses to drop the first U.S. bomb. J.L. Partners told the NY Post that 65% of Trump’s supporters would support U.S. strikes on Iranian outposts while just 19% would oppose it. Republicans who describe themselves as “traditional” back war by an even higher margin: 51% support acting against Iran while 28% do not, and Republicans overall stand behind a strike, 58% to 25%, with 17% neutral or unsure, the Post said.
“This poll makes clear: the Republican base is not isolationist. They back forceful U.S. and Israeli action to stop Iran, and see Israel’s fight as America’s fight,” James Johnson, co-founder of the New York-based J.L. Partners, went on to say in his statement.
Trump’s handling of the volatile situation is still sitting well with voters as 46 percent approve while 40 percent disapprove.
While President Trump can’t run for a third term, he’s well aware that if he mishandles this situation, many of his supporters could ditch the Republican Party and open up the door for progressives to rise to power and finish murdering our constitutional republic.
However, at this point in time, 95 percent of respondents to the poll who cast a ballot for Trump last year say they still support him.
The numbers come at a tumultuous time for the MAGA movement. America First apostles like Tucker Carlson and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have encouraged Trump to avoid direct military action, while traditional pro-war Republicans, including U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Fox News host Mark Levin, have lobbied for the opposite.
As the animosity between both camps has turned more personal, Trump and White House officials in recent days have launched a blitz of communications with the top MAGA figures, compelling them to drop their public criticisms of the president and fall back in line.
The approach seems to have been effective.
Carlson personally called Trump to apologize after putting out a newsletter earlier this week that referred to the president as being “complicit” in the attack on Iran launched by Israel a week ago. On the Wednesday edition of Steve Bannon’s podcast, the former Trump official stated his belief that MAGA supporters will, ultimately, get behind him no matter what decision he makes.
