President Donald Trump made a huge announcement over the weekend concerning a nomination he made for the head of NASA. No doubt the leftist media is going to have a field day with this because of who the nominee was associated with. The rumor mill is about to get some fresh fuel.
Trump pulled the nomination of tech billionaire Jared Isaacman, who is closely linked with billionaire SpaceX CEO and former head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Elon Musk for the top dog at NASA. He then revealed he would be announcing the new nominee in the next few days.
The president took to Truth Social where he offered an explanation for why he withdrew Isaacman’s nomination. He made the decision “after a thorough review” led to some “prior associations” that seemingly made Trump and his administration uncomfortable.
White House officials and those close to Trump have offered no further clarification as to what the president meant by his statement.
“After a thorough review of prior associations, I am hereby withdrawing the nomination of Jared Isaacman to head NASA,” Trump wrote in his post on Truth Social. “I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space.”

Then-president-elect Trump’s transitionteam first announced back in December that Isaacman had been nominated to lead the space agency. Isaacman, 42, has been a close collaborator with Musk ever since buying his first chartered flight on Musk’s SpaceX company in 2021. He is the founder and CEO of Shift4, a credit card processing firm. Isaacman has purchased a number of spaceflights from SpaceX and conducted the first private spacewalk.
The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee approved Isaacman’s nomination in late April and a vote by the full Senate was expected soon. Musk appeared disheartened by the news in a social media post. “It is rare to find someone so competent and good-hearted,” the SpaceX CEO wrote in an X post.
Musk formally departed the Trump Administration earlier this week after his temporary contract with the federal government concluded. He was tasked with cutting waste, fraud and abuse through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative.
Mainstream media outlets will likely use this as fodder for the false narrative that there has been some sort of break in the relationship between Musk and the president. Left-wing propagandists care very little for truth or facts. What matters is convincing gullible Americans to lose faith and trust in the administration they voted for.
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk himself wrote in an X post last week. He also stated that the DOGE mission “will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
