On Tuesday, President Donald Trump kicked off the day by going after one of his most notorious enemies in the legislature, U.S. Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) alleging that he’s been on the receiving end of benefits wrought from a mortgage fraud scheme. Reports say the allegations go back to the time when Schiff was prosecuting Trump while leading the J6 congressional committee.
The president put out a rather long post on Truth Social where he slammed Schiff as a “scam artist.” Hey, there’s a reason so many of us refer to him as “Shifty Schiff.”
“And now I learn that Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud,” Trump stated in his post. “Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA.”
Gee, this seems very familiar. Where have I heard of a situation very similar to this one, right down to the “scam artist” prosecuting President Trump? Oh. That’s right. It’s almost exactly like the allegations facing New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Earlier in 2025, James was referred for criminal prosecution after federal authorities found some major inconsistencies in mortgage documents that go back decades. She’s since hired an attorney and accused the president of a “political witch hunt.” That’s rich, isn’t it?
It appears James has no sense of irony.
Oh and she’s also mooching off a secret public fund of $10 million which she’s allowed to dive into for legal expenses.
Trump then exclaimed in his post, “I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook.”

According to the president, Sen. Schiff refinanced his Maryland property with federal loan holders on Feb. 6, 2009, which he listed at the time as his primary residence. The alleged deception continued until Oct. 13, 2020, when Trump claims the paperwork was corrected to list the home as a secondary residence. Schiff served in the U.S. House from 2001 until 2024, when he easily won election to the Senate.
“Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice,” Trump continued.
Schiff, who has not yet responded to the allegation, has been busy chiding Trump for everything from “Alligator Alcatraz” to the government’s response to historic flooding in Texas. He has seemingly jumped at every opportunity to portray Trump as authoritarian, incompetent, and unethical.
“Firing everyone who could tell you what you’re doing is unethical or illegal does not make what you’re doing ethical or legal,” he wrote after news broke that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi fired the ethics watchdog at the Justice Department.
What’s done in the dark will eventually be exposed by the light. You can’t keep doing wrong and expect never to pay the consequences. You will face them in this life or the next. Likely both.
