By now, the Wall Street Journal likely realizes it made a horrible mistake in publishing what President Donald Trump is now calling a “fake” birthday card allegedly written by him and sent to Jeffrey Epstein. In light of the story, not only has the president filed a lawsuit against the outlet, but booted a reporter from the press pool that is to cover his upcoming Scotland trip.
A similar fate befell the Associated Press and delivered a significant blow to their ability to provide adequate news coverage of the events unfolding in U.S. politics. Trump is taking no prisoners, guys. Maybe if the media did its job fairly and with due diligence, they wouldn’t be getting treated this way.
Tarini Parti, the White House reporter for the WSJ, was supposed to be a member of the media pool covering the president’s trip to his golf courses across the pond in Scotland. However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that Parti will not be allowed to come on the trip.
All of this comes after the news outlet claimed it found a 2003 letter from Trump to Epstein. Trump denies this allegation, referring to the story as “false, malicious, and defamatory.”
“As the appeals court confirmed, the Wall Street Journal or any other news outlet are not guaranteed special access to cover President Trump in the Oval Office, aboard Air Force One, and in his private workspaces,” Leavitt went on to say in a statement. “Due to the Wall Street Journal’s fake and defamatory conduct, they will not be one of the thirteen outlets on board. Every news organization in the entire world wishes to cover President Trump, and the White House has taken significant steps to include as many voices as possible.”

A White House representative declined to speculate on future plans to include or exclude the Wall Street Journal from future media pools. CBS News correspondent Weijia Jiang, the president of the White House Correspondents’ Association earlier this month, criticized the White House.
“This attempt by the White House to punish a media outlet whose coverage it does not like is deeply troubling, and it defies the First Amendment,” Jiang said in response to the news of Parti being kicked out of the media pool.
“Government retaliation against news outlets based on the content of their reporting should concern all who value free speech and an independent media. We strongly urge the White House to restore the Wall Street Journal to its previous position in the pool and aboard Air Force One for the President’s upcoming trip to Scotland,” Jiang added.
Last Friday, President Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the WSJ.
Trump told the publication, “I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women.”
“It’s not my language. It’s not my words,” he continued.
“The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly by President Donald J. Trump that the supposed letter they printed by President Trump to Epstein was a FAKE and, if they print it, they will be sued,” Trump said in a post published on Truth Social.
“Instead, they are going with a false, malicious, and defamatory story anyway,” Trump’s post continued. “The Press has to learn to be truthful, and not rely on sources that probably don’t even exist.”
