Former President Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden, has filed for divorce from her current husband of 13 years, who is a plastic surgeon, according to new reports hitting the internet. Ashley, 44, filed to split from Dr. Howard Krein, 59, on Monday in the city of Philadelphia.
And it seems that the daughter of the former president was pretty pleased to be rid of the doctor. In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, Ashley Biden created a story that showed her walking through a park while flashing a thumbs up to the Beyonce song, “Freedom.”
I guess there’s no love lost between these two, is there? Along with the post was a caption that contained a quote from “Freedom Time” by Lauryn Hill. Wonder if Dr. Krien is feeling the burn.

Ashley, Joe Biden‘s youngest daughter, married Krein in Greenville, Delaware, in 2012. The ceremony took place at the same church where Ashley was baptized, People reported at the time. The former couple met two years earlier through Ashley’s late brother Beau, who died from cancer in 2015.
They lived in a $1.3million home in Philadelphia, where Krein works as an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Ashley has a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and has worked for criminal justice reform in the state.
Ashley spoke about her wedding reception at the Biden’s lakeside estate in Wilmington when she introduced her father at the Democratic National Convention in 2024.
“At the time, my dad was vice president, but he was also that dad who literally set up the entire reception,” Biden said in her spiel. “He was riding around in his John Deere 4-wheeler, fixing the place settings, arranging the plants, and by the way, he was very emotional.”
Ashley is the only biological daughter of former First Lady Jill Biden, who married Joe Biden after the tragic death of his first wife and mother of his two sons. She and her estranged husband were in the Oval Office as Biden spoke to the nation in June, 2024, to announce that he would not seek re-election. It was the last time the couple was publicly seen together.
I don’t mean to state the obvious here, but this family is a total mess. Honestly, it’s pretty sad. They are human beings, all of them made in the image of God. Corruption has eaten away at their souls to the point that they are just shells of the people they could be.
And it all started with the choices of Joe Biden. What you do impacts others around you, like the ripple of a stone skipped across the water.
