President Donald Trump knows exactly how to get a rise out of the leftist media who are perpetually in a state of exasperation and panic. On Tuesday, the president gave liberal reports fits after he said he would “probably” not run for a third term in 2028.
The reporters, of course, believe this is indicates there’s a possibility he could actually campaign for a third term. And that, friends, showcase the constitutional ignorance of the average Democrat. If you read the 22nd Amendment, it clearly prohibits a person from serving three terms in the White House.
But this isn’t even what’s really turning peoples heads. President Trump also revealed who he thinks will ultimately become the 2028 GOP nominee and be the heir of the MAGA movement.
“Like past cycles, the Republican Party’s presidential primary will be a rat race of former friends, longtime foes, and almost certainly some alums of his administration. The field has grown so large over the past decade that news networks have taken to holding two debate stages based on standings in the polls, with each accommodating up to 12 contenders,” Trending Politics News reported.
If things go that way, Trump believes Vice President J.D. Vance will “probably be favored” to pick up the mantel and become the nominee in 2028’s presidential election.
During the president’s signing ceremony to create a task force for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked, “You could clear the entire Republican field right now. Do you agree that the heir-apparent to MAGA is JD Vance?”
“In his answer, Trump suggested that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who ran against him in 2016, would be a great complement to Vance on his 2028 ticket,” the article continued.
“Well, I think most likely. In all fairness, he’s the vice president, and I think Marco is also somebody that maybe would get together with JD in some form,” Trump responded to Doocy. “I also think we have incredible people, some of the people on the stage right here. So it’s too early, obviously, to talk about it, but certainly he’s doing a great job,” he added. “And he would be probably favored at this point.”
A Vance/Rubio ticket for 2028? That’s an intriguing scenario. Given how Rubio is doing right now as secretary of state, that wouldn’t be a bad pairing. Sounds like a winning combination.
Last month, during an interview with Lara Trump on Fox, Rubio said, “I think JD Vance would be a great nominee if he decides he wants to do that.”
Rubio then made it clear he’s totally fine keeping his current position in the administration and then heaped praise on Vance for his communication skills between himself, the president, and conservative activists.
