On Monday, President Donald Trump spoke with the press about his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin where he will attempt to mediate a deal between the country and Ukraine, bringing the several years long conflict between them to an end. During the event, Trump said he will know “within minutes” if a peace deal between Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy can be reached.
“We’re going to have a meeting with Vladimir Putin and…probably in the first two minutes, I’ll know exactly whether or not a deal can be made,” President Trump said to reporters. That display of pure confidence seemed incredulous to one reporter in the group who fired back, “How will you know that?”
As you probably already expected, Trump ate the challenge for breakfast. Remember, when it comes to putting the leftist media in their place, the president is a Jedi Master.
Trump fired back, “Because that’s what I do — I make deals.”
Mic. Drop.

The press conference, held at the White House, came just after President Trump exercised his authority to take control over the D.C. police and deploy the National Guard, a move intended to help bring order to the criminal chaos poisoning the capital.
President Trump then told reporters that he plans to have “constructive conversations” with leaders from Russia and wants to see a “ceasefire very, very quickly.”
“I’m going to speak to Vladimir Putin and I’m going to be telling him, you’ve got to end this war. And he wasn’t going to mess with me. But I thought it was very respectful that the president is coming to our country as opposed to us going to his country or even a third-party place, but I think we’ll have constructive conversations,” the president said.
As soon as talks with Putin wrap up, the president revealed he will contact Zelenskyy and other European leaders to discuss what they spoke about.
“The next meeting will be with Zelenskyy and Putin, or Zelenskyy, Putin, and me,” he stated, adding, “I’ll be there if they need me, but I want to have a meeting set up between the two leaders.”
President Trump was then asked if he foresaw a time in the near future when normal trade between the U.S. and Russia might resume. “I do. Russia has a very valuable piece of land,” he responded.
He then explained that if Putin and the Russian government wanted to focus on “business instead of toward war,” trade relations would drastically improve, going on to say, “It’s a warring nation.”
“That’s what they do,” the president said, adding, “They fight a lot of wars. A friend of mine said Russia is tough because they just keep on fighting. They beat Hitler. So did we…”
