Due to the recent stress in her life, Democrat hopeful Abby Broyles has said, “On the morning of March 2nd, I made the attempt to take my life, but thankfully, God had greater plans for me. I am currently undergoing mental health treatment for severe anxiety and dependency on alcohol to cope.”
Democrat Abby Broyles was running for the 5th District congressional race. That is until she was at a young girls’ slumber party last month. While at the slumber party, Ms. Broyles allegedly got drunk and started yelling at the girls.
At one point, Ms. Broyles allegedly called one girl with a health issue an “acne f***er.” The girl, so degraded, left the room in tears. Abby then proceeded to go on a racist rant, calling another girl a “Hispanic f****er.” It is unclear if another girl tried to stick up for her friends, but Broyles called her a “judgy f****er.”
Sarah Matthews, a mother of one of the girls at the slumber party, took her frustrations to Twitter.
@abbybroyles Since it’s been five days and you have neglected to reach out to any of the young ladies (12 & 13 yr olds, including my daughter) you verbally and emotionally abused last weekend, I thought I would give you a chance to try to apologize (at a minimum) here. 1/4

For someone who pontificates to be undyingly pro woman, I am disgusted by your behavior and find it appalling you couldn’t understand why their parents are angry. Your vile, cruel, and bigoted behavior should not be excused or ‘swept under the rug’. 2/4

Not only did you scare and traumatize these beautiful girls with your words, you ruined a pair of their shoes with your vomit! (Which she saved up to buy with her own money!) Considering how much you bragged about how “rich and successful” you are to these children, 3/4

surely you can afford to replace her shoes! @RepBice @koconews @NEWS9 @TheLostOgle 4/4

Non Doc interviewed Sarah Matthews and her daughter.
Both Matthews and her 12-year-old daughter discussed the situation thoroughly with NonDoc. Another parent, who asked not to be named, corroborated the story based on details provided by her daughter after the party. Text messages from the homeowner outlining and apologizing for Broyles’ actions were also provided to NonDoc by multiple people. In a phone conversation, the homeowner also confirmed to NonDoc that Broyles had caused an incident “of magnitude” at her home.
NonDoc also obtained two photographs of Broyles: A picture of her drinking wine in a kitchen next to two girls, and a screenshot of her in a TikTok video posing with four girls, three of whom are wearing matching pink pajama outfits adorned with hearts.
Matthews said she is still shocked by her daughter’s account of what happened.
“It’s so sad, because this is someone who has stood on a soap box and talked about empowering women, and rather than do that with these girls she chose to belittle and denigrate the next generation of women,” Matthews said. “And she does this at a time when their bodies are changing and their features are changing and they are vulnerable.”
Matthews’ daughter spoke to Non Doc about the experience.
The daughter said Broyles was initially pleasant before becoming upset without provocation.
“It really just happened,” the 12-year-old said. “It was like it was a switch and she started being rude to people. Early in the evening, she had been nice.”
The party attendee said Broyles seemed to be angry at everyone there.
“We were all sitting around, and she was just going around in a circle saying rude things and would end with ‘F-er’ and saying ‘F-you’ to all of us there — really rude things,” the 12-year-old said. “My friend has acne, and she had been talking about her acne early in the evening, and then [Broyles] called her an ‘acne F-er,’ and she ran upstairs crying.”
The attendee said she eventually became the target of Broyles’ pronouncements.
“She was telling me I wasn’t going to be as successful as her,” the 12-year-old said.
While the girl said she was offended at Broyles’ remarks, she said she chose not to respond because she was scared of what Broyles might say or do to her.
At first, Broyles denied even being at the house in question! She said, “I saw the tweets. I have been out of town on a fundraising trip, and they are awful and offensive and false. I mean, I get trolled on Twitter all the time, but I don’t know these women, and I don’t know what is behind this, but it’s just not true.”
The statement above is an outright lie as Abby Broyles then blamed everyone and everything else she could think of in an interview she gave after the photos and videos showed a different story.
Finally, on March 24th, Broyles made the following statement:
Broyles said Thursday, “Last month, I made a mistake I deeply regret.
“As I admitted, I mixed alcohol and a medication I’d never taken before while under the same roof as a group of young women who looked up to me, and for that, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. A mother whom I’ve never met, went to Twitter and the media five days later to make accusations that not only go against my core values and beliefs, but are falsely accusatory. The moment the news became public, I received countless repulsive messages, right-wing social media attacks, and death threats that have led to me feeling unsafe in my own home.”
Broyles’ statement did not specify which accusations were false.
