Since the pandemic began, tractor-trailer truck crashes have risen significantly. Crashes that involved a large truck weighing over 10,000 pounds increased by 13% from 2020 to 2021. Previous to that, it had declined by 1% from 2019 to 2021. There were 5601 tractor-trailer truck crashes included in the data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is just a preliminary look at the data and may change later as more information is included.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimated that almost 43,000 people had died in vehicle crashes in the past year. This would be 10.5% from 2021 and the highest number of deaths since 2005. No one has given a reason for the sudden jump in fatal crashes. However, plenty has suggested more regulation is necessary to stop the rise of deadly crashes.
Devastating news from @NHTSAgov: Truck crash deaths are estimated to have gone up 13 percent from 2020 to 2021.
More than 5,600 people were killed in large truck crashes in 2021. We need to reverse this trend.

Of course, the self-driving lobby quickly jumped on this as an opportunity for their products. Although not outright pushing for self-driving trucks, the lobby stated that lawmakers and or regulators should require automatic emergency braking and advanced driver assistance systems on all trucks. They also suggested that all trucks have a speed limiter and that legislation should raise the minimum insurance requirements for tractor trailers from 750,000 to 5,000,000. There was no comment on how this would negatively affect small tractor-trailer operators and owners. When small truck companies are being squeezed so heavily from diesel prices, the self-driving lobby wants to make sure they get their cut from the little guy.
Perhaps we should look at this vaccine mandate as part of the reason that we have many more tractor-trailer crashes. We all know that this vaccine does cause blood clots which are a problem if they happen in your brain. A blood clot would interfere with the flow of blood to the brain, interfering with the ability to operate a tractor-trailer. So mandating vaccines for truck drivers to bring goods to and from Canada is probably the main reason behind this increase in fatal truck crashes.
Trucking is the lifeblood of our commercial industry in America and needs to be protected. Without truck drivers, we would not have food, infant formula, clothing, pet food, and even gasoline that comes via truck. Truck drivers should have the freedom to decide if they feel a vaccine for COVID-19 is safe for them. Unfortunately, it’s clear from the recent news that the FDA is not looking at it from an individual perspective. The federal government is not either.
How did we even get to the point where a decision that should be between you and your doctor is now a matter of national debate? Why are we pushing this when it’s clear with overwhelming evidence that it causes myocarditis, and blood clots, leading to traffic accidents, all for “emergency” use… But where is the emergency? A million people have died from COVID-19, but how many excess deaths have occurred in the past two years? Excess deaths are not up. We’ve had the same number of deaths as we typically have every year, regardless of why the person died. How are they not just shuffling around why someone died and saying, ” Oh, it was COVID?” They even stated that they lied when they said a person died from COVID, but they had cancer. They counted people with cancer who caught COVID as COVID deaths even if it was stage four cancer. That’s where they get these million deaths from and how they keep using “Emergency” measures.
