Can’t people take responsibility for their actions, crazy as they (actions) might be? How refreshing would it be for someone to come right out and say, “yep, I did it. Don’t regret it a bit”?
Obviously, that would blow any legal defense; I’m not an idiot, but I’m just saying a lot of us would have more respect for would-be criminals. Just own your actions!
You’ll recall controversial, hilarious comedian Dave Chappelle was bum-rushed and attacked on stage back on May 3rd during his set at the Hollywood Bowl. His attacker is now shedding light on what he claims were his motivations.
Outkick reports:
Isaiah Lee, the assailant facing attempted murder charges, said he attacked the comedian for making LGBT jokes and being “triggered” as a bisexual man.
As relayed by the New York Post, Lee said, “I identify as bisexual … and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering.”
Ok, Isaiah, but wouldn’t a letter, strongly worded Tweet, or even an email have sufficed? Did you think rushing Chappelle and subsequently getting tuned up backstage by security would make Dave stop and think, ‘maybe I shouldn’t make these jokes?
No, because they are JOKES. Just because someone, for whatever reason, doesn’t like them or finds them funny doesn’t give anyone the right to perpetrate violence!
‘Triggered’ ???
This is supposed to be an ‘excuse’ now ???
Enough is enough … the public is becoming ‘stuck on stupid’
Poisonous BS … is having serious consequences …

Outkick continued:
Lee, held in Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, added that he is the father of a five-year-old boy. He admitted to struggling with mental health problems and that Chappelle’s joke spawned memories of being sexually assaulted when he was younger.
“I’m also a single dad, and my son is five. It’s a struggle, and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.”
We can all be sympathetic to Lee, as it appears he has had struggles and clearly needs help if what he is claiming is, in fact, true.
However, it could be just as likely that he is making excuses for his behavior to garner sympathy from certain groups that don’t like Chappelle’s incendiary humor.
It could also be questioned why Lee was so easily able to bring a weapon into the Hollywood Bowl.
Lee said he’s been homeless and was in the process of moving into a residence before attending the Netflix is a Joke event. The attacker is also facing criminal charges related to allegations of Lee stabbing a past roommate in December 2021.
“I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect,” Lee added.
Again, an email might’ve been safer and just as effective.
So to be clear, what we have here is a bisexual, single father, homeless, moving into a residence, that still had the financial means to purchase a ticket to the Hollywood Bowl at what I’m sure was a hefty price point. Oh, and he stabbed his roommate a few months ago.
Well, Isiah, maybe Dave will give you a call, hopefully in the state penitentiary, before he sits down to write any new material. He should know where to find you.
