Biden Doesn’t Think You Should Own a Cannon, or a Handgun!

The man of a thousand crazy rants, Joe Biden, went on another the Monday after a weekend visit to Uvalde, Texas. Apparently, Joe still doesn’t have time to visit the victims of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, but maybe after he is relieved of duty in 2024, he can swing by.

Biden spoke to the press Monday and had another impressive, incoherent rant.

Per the New York Post:

President Biden ranted against ownership of what he called “high-caliber weapons” Monday — appearing to suggest that there should be restrictions on the most popular handgun in America, the 9mm pistol, and repeating a previously debunked claim that the Second Amendment prohibits ownership of cannons.

Can you believe it?? Not only is my 4th cookout more expensive, but I guess I also have to cancel my cannon order! So what am I going to do with all of these cannonballs?

Upon further review, it turns out slow Joe is wrong about cannons too. Crazy, since he should be able to remember from his childhood. Per Politifact:

David Kopel, the research director and Second Amendment project director at the free-market Independence Institute, agreed. “I am not aware of a ban on any arm in colonial America,” he said. “There were controls on people or locations, but not bans on types of arms.”

Gotta say, when a true lib source like Politifact shoots down a Dem, they must be really wrong.

So good news, I guess, getting that cannon after all. But I digress.

So, according to the Washington Post, this is what sleepy Joe said about guns:

Speaking to reporters outside the White House after returning to Washington from a weekend that included a visit to the site of last week’s mass shooting in Texas, Biden recounted a visit to a trauma hospital in New York, where he said doctors had showed him X-rays of gunshot wounds caused by various firearms.

“They said a .22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it out — may be able to get it and save the life,” Biden said. “A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body.

The critical part here is the language and how Biden uses the most dramatic, hyperbolic vocabulary he can. He wants to paint the visual of a lung being blown out of a body. But, he fails to consider how, if 9mm handguns are banned from law-abiding citizens owning them if a lung gets blown out, it’s most likely a citizen’s lung, not a criminal. Get it?

“So the idea of these high-caliber weapons is, uh, there’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of thinking about self-protection, hunting,” the president went on.

Later in his remarks, Biden appeared to rule out the possibility of taking major executive action on guns, saying: “I can’t dictate this stuff. I can do the things I’ve done and any executive action I can take, I’ll continue to take. But I can’t outlaw a weapon. I can’t, you know, change the background checks. I can’t do that.”

So he talked smack, then had a moment of clarity and walked it back on his own. I’m sure his staffers breathed a collective sigh of relief that they were spared damage control for once.

“Remember, the Constitution, the Second Amendment, was never absolute,” Biden said. “You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed. You couldn’t go out and purchase a lot of weapons.”

Wrong. Dead wrong. Joe, read the 2nd Amendment. Have someone read it to you. Have a second grader read it to you. Whatever it takes. The 2nd Amendment IS ABSOLUTE. There literally is no other way to interpret it unless you are a liar, stupid, or just pushing your own political agenda.

Whatever is the case here, be mindful, folks. Be cautious. Listen to the words that aren’t being said, and vote in November. Our very freedoms are at risk. Vote like liberty depends on it because it does!
