Infamous jihadi bride Shamima Begum who left Britain to marry an ISIS terrorist in Syria has said she fears she may be sentenced to death as she faces trial for terror offenses.
Begum abandoned the UK in 2015 at the age of 15 with two female friends to join the Islamic State in Syria. Begum said she was groomed online by ISIS propaganda before boarding a plane to the Middle East with her teenage friends Amria Abase and Kadiza Sultana to become Jihadi brides.
Ten days after arriving in the war-torn country, Begum married ISIS Dutch-born ISIS terrorist Yago Riedjik although the marriage is not recognized under Dutch law due to Begum’s age at the time. The pair had 3 children, two of whom allegedly died as infants.
During her time with ISIS, Begum reportedly helped to make suicide vests, and, according to the Daily Telegraph, she worked as an “enforcer” for ISIS’ military police, which involved punishing other women who did not conform to the group’s strict Sharia laws.
Other reports allege the young terrorist stitched suicide vests to men’s bodies so they were unable to change their minds.
In 2019, the remorseless Jihadi brushed off the horrific aftermath of terrorist executions as normal. She said when she saw the severed heads of captured soldiers dumped in a trash can, the experience “didn’t faze” her as the men were enemies of Islam:
“When I saw my first severed head in a bin it didn’t faze me at all.
“It was from a captured fighter seized on the battlefield, an enemy of Islam.
“I thought only of what he would have done to a Muslim woman if he had the chance.”

Begum has now been living in a refugee camp in Syria for the past five or six years and has since made a remarkable change in her attitude as she continually begs the British government, who removed her citizenship in 2020, to allow her to return to the UK – a request the British government has continually denied.
Speaking to the press from a camp she described as “hell on Earth”, Begum opted to swap her staple burkha for a more Westernized baseball cap, grey vest, and manicured orange nails as she told Boris Johnson she could help him catch other terrorists:
“I think I could very much help you in your fight against terrorism because you clearly don’t know what you’re doing,” said Begum last year.
She said other women in the camp have continually set her tent on fire because of her dramatic change of dress, causing her to “fear for her life”.
Now, sources close to Begum say the Jihadi bride is worried she may face the death penalty as she has been informed she may be tried for terrorism by the independent region of Rojava. Her friends say she doesn’t trust the justice system there and remains desperate to return to Britain:
“Begum has convinced herself she’ll pay the ultimate price if she is tried and found guilty of terrorism offences in Syria. She’s very frightened and concerned,” said the source.
“She’s been told she will be put on trial in Rojava, probably as one of a group of women accused of terrorist offenses.
“She hasn’t been given a date yet but has been told it will be in around September or October. Rojava authorities don’t advocate the death penalty but that has failed to convince her she won’t escape such a punishment.”
Begum attempted to appeal Britain’s decision to remove her passport again last year, but the Supreme Court again denied her request. The fate of the terrorist who once said the bombing of hundreds of children at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester was “justified” now rests with the Rojava authorities.
