Super popular Twitter account, Libs of TikTok (LOTT), has found herself on the receiving end of the social media giant’s ban hammer on several occasions, however, now the person who runs the account has shared a leaked Slack conversation that took place between Twitter employees who were explaining their motivations for attempting to censor her on the platform.
And here the folks at Twitter keep telling us that there is no specific targeting of conservatives on the site. Guys, there’s a lesson to learn here. If a liberal’s lips are moving, he or she is lying.
The LOTT account started off as just a bit of comedic fun at the expense of radical left-wingers who, let’s face it, do and say some rather off-the-wall stuff that is worthy of mockery. But then it transformed into something sort of like a service looking out for the good of the public when it began exposing preschool teachers secretly instructing kids they can choose their own genders.
According to a report from The Daily Wire, “Most recently, the account was banned from Twitter for its “Mega Drag Thread,” which gathered a huge list of drag events promoted to children. The account was reinstated, but then an anonymous Twitter employee sent screenshots of an alleged internal conversation about how the person behind the account was actually a ‘domestic terrorist.’ LOTT revealed the screenshots in its most recent Substack newsletter.”
The employees kick things off by sharing a reaction to a tweet, where they made the extremely dramatic claim that LOTT was “going to get somebody killed” by sharing an ad for Drag Queen Story Hour in Alachua County, Florida.
How is it these folks aren’t dropping like flies from heart attacks as much stress as they must be under with always assuming the absolute worst possible scenario to each and every action or word a person makes that goes against their belief system?
“Feels more likely that libsoftiktok will get a verified platform badge out of this than a platform ban, happy pride,” one employee stated with more than a pinch of sarcasm on the #social-watercooler channel.
“This has been escalating for months fwiw,” another person commented.
“But our expectations out of twitter are so low right now that the devil himself is having to squat to get to their level,” another comment said.
“Like I don’t get how this account, which exists solely to generate targeted violence at marginalized people, continues to be allowed to post,” the next reaction stated in the post.
Uh, what?
When has LOTT ever called for violence or condoned such actions against anyone that she disagrees with politically? Please, dear liberals, provide the evidence to support such a wild accusation. I’ll wait.
*Crickets*
*Two Hours Later*
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
“But if we deplatform this account, we might erode trust in our platform from users who already think we’re irredeemably biased against conservatives,” the following comment explained.
“I mean, we successfully deplatformed Trump – I don’t think deplatforming Libs of TikTok is going to cause a mass exodus but I guess it may not be in our “’fiduciary’ interest to enact a ban on a high profile account right now…” the next line stated.
And there you have the admission of purposefully trying to deplatform Trump for his political views, which is something we all knew, but it’s nice to feel the vindication that comes with a confession.
“Trans people are being targeted for genocidal violence during pride month,” another reaction in the conversation stated.
The person who posted previously then issued an apology.
“I apologize,” they went on to write. “I was not speaking from my own perspective but applying a commentary on how leadership has behaved lately. I could have phrased that better and will be more conscious in future messages. I despise and despair the activity that is currently flourishing on our platform and empowering white supremacists/fascists to act with impunity in conducting harmful emotional and physical violence on trans folx and the broader LGBTQ+ community.”
LOTT then summarized the whole conversation in her Substack post, saying, “you don’t need leaked messages to know just how biased and agenda-driven these people are. It only confirms what we already see with our own eyes every day.”
Nailed it.
