Chatting about whether or not President Joe Biden would run for reelection in 2024, Joy Behar, co-host of “The View” stated Tuesday that former Obama adviser David Axelrod should “keep his mouth shut” about the president’s age.
Because age should not play a role in deciding whether or not someone is mentally fit for office, right? It’s not like a person’s mental faculties tend to deteriorate over age or anything. A person darn near a hundred should still be allowed to run for the presidency, so long as he’s a liberal.
That’s their line of thinking anyway.
“David Axelrod should keep his mouth shut. And you know what, Ronald Reagan’s rule was thou shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican. And I say onto you, David Axelrod, do not speak ill of a fellow Democrat,” Behar stated during the program.
It was guest host Alyssa Farah who brought up Axelrod’s comments from a New York Times post that was published on Sunday with the title “Should Biden Run in 2024? Democratic Whispers of ‘No’ Start to Rise.”
The New York Times then went on to report that Democrats are becoming more and more concerned about the president’s ability to save the party as we head closer and closer to the midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election.
“The presidency is a monstrously taxing job and the stark reality is the president would be closer to 90 than 80 at the end of a second term, and that would be a major issue,” Axelrod went on to tell the outlet.
“In asking the question, who is most fit to beat Donald Trump, because that man should never be president again, I’m not sure its Joe Biden,” Farah stated, going on to add that she didn’t think Biden has the same “sharpness.”
Fox News then reported that co-host Whoopi Goldberg stated that we need a person who can help get the country back on track, noting she’s far more interested in seeing which Republicans have a shot.
Sunny Hostin, yet another co-host of the program, stated she hopes it is not Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, as she believes he “handled COVID miserably.”
Yeah. How dare the guy not seek to employ the use of tyrannical measures to save his state from mask mandates and vaccine mandates that would have left the economy of his state utterly devastated. These people are so clueless it hurts to hear them speak.
“I think he’s a fascist and a bigot,” she continued, employing the use of favorite liberal buzzwords that she clearly does not understand the actual meanings of in order to score more woke cred.
“I hate this talk about, I think people saying he’s too old, I mean, you know, if the former, you know, twice-impeached, disgraced president thinks he’s such a young spring chicken I mean he’s going to be 78 when Joe Biden is 81. I don’t like this ageism argument,” Hostin said.

She said that there were plenty of Democrats that have “verve and energy” and noted she would like to see Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., run because “he’s really pretty to look at.”
She also said she would like a presidential ticket with Vice President Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, saying that their “brain power alone would obliterate” Trump or DeSantis.
“Ronald Reagan had Alzheimers as a younger man,” Goldberg went on to claim, then adding that its more about “what you can get done.”
“Biden doesn’t get the credit he deserves for steering the country through the worst of the pandemic, passing historic legislation, pulling the NATO alliance together against Russian aggression and restoring decency and decorum to the White House,” Axelrod also went on to say to the New York Times. “And part of the reason he doesn’t is performative. He looks his age and isn’t as agile in front of a camera as he once was, and this has fed a narrative about competence that isn’t rooted in reality.”
When Biden was elected he was already 78-years-old, and showing quite a few signs of cognitive decline. However, he is the oldest president elected in the history of the country. He would be 82-years-old if he were elected for a second term.
