Avengers actor and political activist Chris Evans took an opportunity on Tuesday to drop the verbal hammer down on critics of his latest film, a Toy Story spinoff called, Lightyear, for not approving of the gay kiss scene in the movie.
For the record, I’d like to take a moment to explain that the reason the vast majority of Americans don’t want to see gay kissing in movies and television shows is because they view it as indoctrination of their children to accept a lifestyle that they may not approve of or that goes against their values or beliefs.
Kids in the target age range for movies like Lightyear don’t need to be exposed to sexuality, nor does Hollywood possess the right to “normalize” a behavior that a lot of folks disagree with or simply don’t want taught to their kids by anyone other than family.
Just thought I’d throw that out there.
“Disney/Pixar reinstated the same-sex kiss between two female characters, Alisha and her wife, following Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which bans classroom discussion on anything related to sexuality and gender to children in third-grade and younger,” the Daily Wire reported.
“The real truth is, those people are idiots,” the Marvel actor told Reuters, taking a big dig at critics of the kiss. “Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good.”
Name calling, Mr. Evans? Maybe you should check the little rubber bracelet around your wrist and see “What Would Captain America Do?” to find out if the sole reason for your current fame would agree with your stance on the issue.
Evans then got super ooey-gooey over the gay kiss during an interview with Variety on Monday.
“Disney put a line in the sand saying, we’re putting this back in, but also, we’re not going to remove it for any other territories, in these places that would have a problem with it,” a Variety reporter went on to say. “What did you make of the company making that decision?”
“I mean, it’s great,” the actor replied. “As great as it is — and you know, I’ve been asked the question a few times — it’s nice, and it’s wonderful, it makes me happy.”
“It’s tough to not be a little frustrated that it even has to be a topic of discussion,” Evans then stated during the interview. “That it is this kind of ‘news.’ The goal is that we can get to a point where it is the norm, and that this doesn’t have to be some uncharted waters, that eventually this is just the way it is. That representation across the board is how we make films.”
“Look, it’s an honor to be a part of something that is taking those steps, but the goal is to look back on this time and just be shocked that it took us this long to get there,” the actor added.
Tim Allen was recast for the film as the iconic voice of the Buzz Lightyear character, which is definitely a little fishy given the fact that Allen is openly conservative.
Fellow conservative Hollywood star Patricia Heaton delivered her own verbal beat down of Disney/Pixar for replacing Allen for the part, asking why the company would “completely castrate this iconic, beloved character.”
“Saw the trailer for Buzz Lightyear and all I can say is Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal [Tim Allen],” Heaton went on to say in a post on Twitter. “Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?”
The bottom line is, Disney seems to be on board with grooming children to accept certain sexual lifestyles as normal, whether parents want their kids taught that or not.
Recasting Tim Allen, who would never go along with something like that, was necessary for them to put out the “woke” content they wanted to make.
