Local law enforcement officers in Massachusetts are now investigating an accident that occurred on Thursday evening where a car with an anti-Trump bumper sticker smashed through the glass window of a store in the town of Easton.
Oh, and by the way, the store just happened to be Pro-Trump. I’m sure that probably played no part in the whole mess at all.
According to Just The News, the Easton Police Department posted video footage of the incident on its social media page, which revealed a black Volkswagen Jetta crashing through the front window of the store, which sells pro-Trump products.
There was one employee in the store at the time of the accident, which occurred around 5 p.m., but fortunately, they were not injured.
The report also revealed that there’s a fairly large sign outside of the store that is done up in the style and font of the former president’s famous merchandise that says, “T-shirts, hats, flags, and more.” There are also pro-Trump flags filling up most of the windows.
The video reportedly shows the car coming through the window and then traveling several yards into the store, knocking over several racks of shirts.
Keith Lambert, the owner of the store, spoke with a local news outlet, saying that right before the vehicle came through the window “there was a little boy with his mother shopping right in that spot.”
“Thank God nobody got hurt, that’s all I can say,” he went on to say.
“Police have identified the driver only as a 46-year-old man from the nearby town of Raynham, who was taken to a nearby [hospital] to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” Just The News reported.
As of this writing, there have not been any charges filed against the driver, though the incident is still under investigation.
Several images of the back of the Jetta shows a bumper sticker featuring an image of former President Trump with a barcode on his upper lip in an attempt to make him look like Adolf Hitler.
There’s another sticker that has a Voltaire quote which says, “Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”
Would someone really be so awful and evil as to purposefully run a vehicle through the front of a store that sold political items they disagreed with? This, folks, is not tolerance. And no, that whole “be intolerant of intolerance” thing doesn’t hold water here.
There’s a difference between expressing your distaste for certain political ideology and trying to both destroy property and hurt others who believe differently than you do.
Of course, this could have been an accident and not an intentional act. I certainly hope that is the case. It’s sickening to think someone might have been willing to murder others for simply believing something different.
Then again, we’ve been seeing an uptick in violence from the radical elements of the left for many years now, so it’s totally possible that this driver committed this act on purpose.
Again, let’s hope that’s not the case and that this is all an accident.
