An officer who was attempting to implement the new red flag’ rule in Maryland shot and killed a 61-year-old man in Ferndale on Monday morning. The officer fired at the guy.
At around 5:17 in the morning, Anne Arundel County Police verified that a shooting involving police officers had happened in the 100 block of Linwood Avenue.
According to the police, two officers who were serving a new Extreme Risk Protective Order (Red Flag Law), a protective order in Maryland that requires the removal of firearms from a residence, shot and killed the individual who was listed on the order.

According to Sgt. Jacklyn David, who works for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, “protective orders to confiscate guns can be requested by family members, law enforcement officers, and mental health specialists.”
Gary J. Willis, who lived at that address, was identified as the suspect. According to the officials, Willis answered the door while he was armed with a weapon. After, Willis positioned the weapon near the entrance. Willis reportedly became enraged when the officers began to carry out the order to serve him, and he reached for his weapon.
Willis pulled the trigger when one of the cops attempted to take the pistol away from him, but the officer was unsuccessful. Willis was hit by a bullet that was fired by the second officer.
He was pronounced dead on the spot. Nobody from the police department was hurt, and nobody else who was inside the residence was hurt either. The investigation into the shooting by the police is still ongoing. At this moment, it is unclear who informed the police about Willis by calling them and providing them with his whereabouts.
Only nine “red flag” calls have been received by the Anne Arundel County Police Department so far.
According to People’s Law, Maryland created Red Flag Laws in 2018:
Effective October 1, 2018, Maryland has extreme risk protective orders, which is a court order that temporarily requires a person to surrender any firearms or ammunition to law enforcement and not purchase or possess firearms or ammunition. Some people refer to this as a “red flag” law.
A bipartisan group of 10 Republicans and 10 Democrats are putting together a piece of gun legislation that contains red flag laws. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut are gathering momentum as they iron out the details of new “red flag” legislation. Both senators hope that the legislation will gain support from fellow Republicans to break a filibuster in the Senate.
The main problem with red flag laws is that they will target people’s social media posts as a way to take their guns away.

Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell of California doesn’t believe Ben Shapiro should own guns because Shapiro exercised his free speech. Red Flag laws are just another way for the Democratic Party to inch closer to de-arming Americans in order to completely take over the United States.
