It’s finally happened.
The United States Supreme Court has officially overturned landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade, which is what legalized abortion across the United States, paving the way for the murder of thousands upon thousands of pre-born children.
This is truly a landmark ruling.
According to a report from The Daily Wire, “The 6-3 decision on Friday followed the early May leak of a draft opinion indicating which way the justices would rule. That leak prompted protesting across the nation, particularly in Washington, D.C. as well as dozens of attacks and vandalism of pro-life organizations, centers, and churches.”
“Justice Samuel Alito wrote that Roe and a subsequent case, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which upheld Roe, both must be overturned, and the right to allow, deny, or restrict the right to an abortion must reside with states,” the report continued.
“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division,” Alito went on to say in his majority opinion. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
The overturning of Roe came as a result of a decision that was made in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which was a challenge to a law in the state of Mississippi that placed major restrictions on the so-called “federal right to abortion.”
Just last month, a leaked draft opinion for the case seemed to indicate that the court would be ruling to overturn Roe, which then galvanized both pro-abortion and pro-life groups to take action and begin protesting for both sides of the cause.
However, liberals and abortion fanatics took things up a notch with over 20 attacks on pro-life organizations and ministries by groups like Jane’s Revenge, not to mention a man being arrested for an assassination plot on Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The suspect actually turned himself in before any action was taken, which is a relief, but his motivation was mostly due to his fear of Roe being overturned.
“Hundreds of people gathered at the court Friday, carrying signs and shouting slogans. Police cordoned off the groups, hoping to avoid violence in the wake of the polarizing decision,” the report revealed.
Due to the decision by the court, restrictions on abortion will now be left up to the states, which is what it should have been all along, thanks to the 10th Amendment. There are several states that are expected to move closer to banning the practice outright soon, while liberal states might actually attempt to expand protections for it.
“Alito was joined by the Supreme Court’s other conservative justices, including Chief Justice John Roberts. All three liberal judges – Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer, and Sonya Sotomayor – dissented,” the report added.
This is an absolutely historic day for our country. It’s a day when liberty and justice has finally shone through the thick cloud of darkness that has enshrouded America ever since abortion was legalized by Roe all those years ago.
However, it’s important to note the work has just begun. Each state must now take action to ban this practice. Celebrate the victory, then put on your armor. The battle has just begun.
