It appears that YouTube has joined the three big tech giants in their desire to eliminate free speech by blocking content provided by the American Conservative Union (ACU) from their platform.
Of course, Google owns the video sharing platform having bought the site in November of 2006. They are also being sued, along with Facebook and Twitter, by former President Trump. No doubt this is the reason why YouTub over the weekend decided to pull the plug on the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas.
ACU chairman Matt Schlapp, who hosts the gala event every year, issued a statement to his supporters announcing the willful censorship by the San Bruno social media firm.
“It is clear that YouTube censored CPAC because we stood with former President Donald Trump on his lawsuit against Big Tech,” said the chairman. “This is yet another example of Big Tech censoring content with which they disagree in order to promote the political positions they favor.”
The dust-up began on July 9th when YouTube issued a strike against ACU denying the conservative organization from posting content for 7-days. Which coincidentally was one day before CPAC was to begin its festivities.
A defiant Schlapp told reporters, “I think the biggest screw you to the cancel culturalists as the culmination of this CPAC in the big red state of Texas, Donald Trump to take the stage and tell the world that no matter what they do, they will not shut him down.”

Later that same the day Schlapp tweeted out, “YouTube censors CPAC’s “America Un-Canceled” episode featuring Donald Trump’s major class action lawsuit against Big Tech.”

However, despite YouTube’s attempt to cancel the event on their platform One America News along with Fox News highlighted influential guest speakers throughout the weekend. The gala event culminated with number 45 appearing on stage to the stirring rendition of “God Bless the USA” song by Lee Greenwood.
Trump smiling and waving to the crowd amidst thunderous applause and chants of “USA, USA, USA” reverberated throughout the hall. The former president waited patiently clapping and pointing to friends and associates seated in the audience, the crowd sensing he was about to speak quickly drew silent.
Trump began to speak: “We are taking Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey and the other Silicon Valley billionaires to federal court,” he stated, “and we will keep on fighting until we have stopped this assault on our liberties and until we have restored the sacred right to freedom of speech for every single American. Who would have thought, who would have thought?”
The crowd rose in unison cheering wildly, Trump continued, “The Big Tech giants work together to suppress and diminish news coverage that was negative for Joe Biden…anything negative for Biden or the radical left Democrats, they just suppress,” he stated. “Furthermore, these Big Tech companies interfered with and undermined the sacred integrity of the ballot box by censoring any honest discussion of election fraud. You say election fraud, you get canceled.”
However, the former president saved the best for last, “We will take back the House, we will take back the Senate. And then after witnessing all that has gone wrong in our country in such a short period of time with our borders, with our economy, with crime, we will take back that glorious White House.”
Later that evening a straw-poll was conducted on who would be the best GOP presidential candidate for 2024. Not surprising the former president captured 70% of the vote, to Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis’ 21%.
